I like to sleep in just a little bit, but that is often not the case because Nora doesn't know it is Sunday! I like to cook a nice big breakfast- pancakes, eggs, bacon- the whole works. The rest of the day I like to spend with the family-doing something that is fun for everyone.

Sometimes Sunday turns into Chore Day, but then we get to have our "Day off" on Tuesday when Doug gets his second day off.

Today my parents are coming up from Wyoming so we are going to do something fun for us all. What about you?

Sundays we go to church, and then come home and enjoy our home and quiet. Sometimes we go for a "Sunday drive" just to get out and see some nature and the open spaces, that's my favorite...I have been trying to keep Sunday as a day of rest, to think upon the Lord and let our bodies be restored and be more mindful of our many, many blessings. We live in a 24 hr town and it is so easy to just treat the day God gave us to rest as just another day. If God rested as an example to us, how much more do I need it!!! Turning our backs on the world for that one day makes all the difference, I truly miss it when we have responsibilites to answer to...I try to plan meals and cover the bases so we can be free on Sunday, I do take care of our cat, much to my joy...Debbie

Well, our Sundays usually start with church, although I must admit that there are times both of us can be easily swayed. However, I find that those Sundays spent in church far outweigh those not spent in church. I am the first to cast a vote for sleeping in, but I find that the extra effort exerted to getting up, getting dressed, & attending our church is by far the most fulfilling. Although the lure of bacon(now what mortal can resist that?!) eggs & a good ole couch sittin is the best,I have found over the course of the last 5+ yrs (since we have been memebers of our Lutheran Church)we end up with such a sense of peace & calm after church, that I find even after missing a week, hubby is ready to go the next. We have a great group of people & we are truly a family. It is the best. The chores & bacon can wait. I love my Sunday services. (plus today we had a bake sale. C'mon Farmgirls.. who can resist a homemade blackberry cake??)

okay...my vote goes to Meg for the best Sunday although there were bits and pieces of all that sounded so nice! I usually walk 3 miles every morning through the woods with my dog but not on Sunday...it is my RnR day but I still work....I can't help it I guess! Today I took a nice bath first thing then changed my sheets and made a nice breakfast for myself. I watched Olympics all day or at least listened to it. I cleaned my sun porch and tonight embroidered some of my Farmgirl Sisterhood badge. I've been canning this week so it was nice to do something else...like clean for a switch. I did sleep in until 8:30 because I stayed up late watching the Olympics! I LOVE the Olympics!

Usually we sleep in a little or at least snuggle up in bed (after I've let the chickens out and collected eggs in my pjs!) with our tea and cookies(or cinnamon buns!) and read or watch a little Sunday morning tv. Today I watched some Olympics and went online, checking forums and email. Sunday afternoons are usually the same work we do everyday, since our business is at home. The fella's in the garage or on the computer, and I'm working away in the house or yard.

Occasionally we have Sundays out, and this aft we drove out to Cottonwood (a historic country mansion we're members of) for the Peach Social, and listened to the Victorian brass band play. We met up with my grandparents and went to the dairy bar for an early supper and spent the rest of the evening on the farm porch- watching the river, listening to stories of when they were kids, and trying to keep the goat from getting in the house.
Those are the best kind of Sundays :)

Sleep late, cook a big breakfast (eggs, bacon, bisquits, grits, fruit), read the Bible, weed the garden, play with cats, mow, etc...

Hello!

I sleep in a little-then we feed our dog, and take a walk to pick up the Sunday paper at the end of the driveway-which is a quarter of a mile long.

Then, we have a nice breakfast and read the paper. Then we putter around the house, and during the school year, get ready for our classes for the week.

Kind of a calm, getting ready for the workweek day.

Our Sundays are usually spent at church, and afterwards we usually go out to eat. Then it's home to relax. Hubby usually can be found watching tv and as for me, I knit or read, or sometimes go do some shopping.

I get up early, go take care of the chickens and then hop back in bed to prepare my Sunday School lesson. Then, I eat a little breakfast, hop in the shower and head to church. After church, we eat dinner and cozy in for the rest of the day. I love Sundays!

Church.
And after that it depends. Most times I go for a coffee with my friend and her hubby. After that home most of the time, alone with Elvis.

Sometimes there is a nice visit. This afternoon to a birthday party.
If I am home, I puter a bit, read a bit, garden (summertime) or craft.

Just a quiet day really :)

Usually up around 7 ish, putter around in the quiet and snuggle with the pups until Jus wakes. Watch Sunday Morning, and then either read the newspaper, or do some errands. We haven't been having big breakfasts lately--just bacon'd out, I guess.

Today it's dog baths and laundry...so wet, wet, wet.

I'm dyeing this Sunday!!! Don't worry....I'm dyeing YARN this weekend since DH is on a pack trip up in the hills, I am creating and making a great big mess in the garage!! Also mowed the yard, changing water, making sure the critters have fresh cool water...it's been real hot here the past week. Going to clean my office this afternoon when it's too hot to be outside. I bought a roaster chicken at Costco on Friday and been eating on it all weekend...no cooking! I kinda like it when he's gone...for a few days now and then. Also been reading the Encyclopedia of Country Living which I found at Costco on Friday...I was going to wait for Christmas but I just couldn't resist...marketed 28 lambs last week so I had a little windfall this week.

I got home on Friday afternoon and closed the front gate and haven't opened it since! It's fun being all locked up in my little farm for the weekend. I'm not planning on going anywhere until work Monday morning.

Of course, I could have slept in but oh no...5:00 and I'm wide awake.

We sleep in (well, I wish I could but baby doesn't know he is "supposed" to). Lounge around in the morning reading the Sunday paper, looking through the store ads. Go to church at noon (the latest mass I could find!) and then spend the afternoon taking walks, going to a park, or watching a movie with the family.

Hi to all,
I do what I do every morning. I go out and feed the goats and chickens and then take care of the dogs( cleaning up after them and letting them out and feeding them and so on and so on....) Then I come in and usually throw a load of laundry in and then i go to the computer to catch up on emails and eat my breakfast. I think I have too many sundays !!!! hehehehehehe everyday is the same routine. Today we are planning on having a lay around day since we have been very busy this week with our county fair. it ended yesterday. I want to knit today. beverley

Wake up and feed the kids and send them out if it's nice. Or to watch a movie or something... Then I'll get on line for a few, then at 9 am (right now) The Cowboy SHow comes on with Ken Overcast and I'll listen to that for an hour and if I have a cross stitch piece I'm working on I'll do that. Then it's clean house up a bit or whatever Ben has planned for outside work or we may sit around and hang out together. School start next week and I'm sure our Sunday's will be more hectic getting ready for Mondy..

If it's winter... then it's up and out to feed cows, everyday rain or shine. They don't know when it's the weekend.

Church and then family day! We live seriously close (20 yards) to my in-laws, so usually my hubby's brothers and their wives (ahem) come over. Always something going on. Today tho, I am seriously going to do some cleaning...I was sick the whole week, and my house looks like it! DH has to work too, when the government calls, you go to work!

Otherwise, we just kick back!

My Sundays are busy. Up early to walk the dogs. Shower, check email and spend a few on the computer. Then off to church...we usually eat out on Sunday, small town here so not a lot of choices. Then we visit family or just kick back with the dogs. Have church 2 and 4th Sunday night other than that we just finsih up chores for the weekend or rest.

Our Sundays are so differnt now that Ange is grown...when she was growing up, Sunday was family day. We had a dune buggy and would hit the mountains. Ridding all day, cooking out in the woods or having a little picnic along the way. Always studying the trees, wildflowers, creekbeds, cool rock formations, just enjoying nature. We also would check out cemeteries and old homeplaces.oh my, sure miss that special time. What memories.
