I'm burned out beyond burned out!! I loff my job but I'm so tired of it that I could just...cry or cuss or something.

We were supposed to start out vacation today in OR and here we are in IL, waiting on a load. Our dispatcher 'forgot' we had it coming even tho Gary reminded him twice last week. Conveniently forgot is what I say! I missed seeing my grandkids cuz he promised a load thru their town and then 'lost the load'. I could go on and on.

So I reminded him again yesterday of vacation and said we were just going to push it back, all 10 days worth. I want the vacation and the money and then I have to do something differnt. I looked up the local paper of the town we want to move back to and found some local driving jobs. Not great pay but I'd be home at nite. Nor the big outlay of money to live on the road. I would see my horse everyday and Gary could go hunting/fishing/shooting.

Some friends called to say there are 3 acres for $8K and we will look at it. I'm to the point of keeping the 5th wheel and live in it whereever, doesn't matter as long as I'm home and we have a life.

So, now I feel better and am looking forward to something new. Just had to vent! Thanks for listening!!

I can sympathize with you, as I been feeling the same way about my job the past couple weeks. If you have a backup plan, and like the list shown from Karen, you should do whatever makes you happy....life is too short!

Thanks for the support!

Living - you are soooo funny! I am a list-er also but this thing just kept happening. We get tired and then think of all the good things from driving and then just keep going but it's doing us in and we're at the age that life needs to be enjoyable here on in. (run on sentence deluxe)

I think the outlay from living on the road will be equalized by living at home and less money. Hubby is finally seeing it my way. Well, I kind of had to throw a fit but I was so tired and mad and...you get the pic.

Thanks again for the support. I have to get on over to the customers and get loaded but can read any more replies on my cell phone. It's too hard to reply off the cell so I just read.

It sounds like changing your life really would be better! I agree! If you can get 3 acres for $8k- that is amazing. As long as there is water! You could probably quit boarding your horse too (if you were going to be home every night and with land) so that would be a savings. I would jump on it as well!

Let's take inventory:
Land - check (3 acres for $8k - sounds good to me)
Housing - check (already own fifth wheel)
Companionship - check (your sweetie)
Quality of life improvement - check (home every night, time with horse, hunting/fishing/etc. for Gary)
$$ - check (lower pay equalized by no outlay of on-the-road funds)

Tell me again why you're hesitating....... I'm a pros-and-cons list maker so make a p/c list for each option. Make your decision and then go for it! Be brave! Be MaryJane!!!

God bless -

Honestly Winona, I think you should GO FOR IT!!! When you get to the point where you absolutely HATE your job, it really IS time to do something different. Working should not be such a hardship or cause so much stress in your life. Sounds like there are some opportunities out here that are definitely worth looking into-- and just think of the pleasure it will bring you to tell that dispatcher -- "You know what? You can take that job and SHOVE IT!!!!" Best of luck Hon!!! Keep us posted ~~~ Tracy
