this is the 'store-boughten' one that fostered the idea to make 'home-did' ones with the kids!

(i think it cost about $15.)

a fairly simple wired one .. (they had them much more 'intricate) .. for upwards to $35. each! OUCH!

====

soooooo . i bought it .. came home .. gathered some twigs and wire .. and started bending and shaping .. and came up with this:

got much more 'fanciful' with the bubble head! and it ALL works!

added some olde buttons to 'prim' it up!

COST: 'nuthin' ... PRICELESS!

once you gather the twigs (or sticks) .. the kids can 'paint' these too if you want even more fun! and cut lengths of wire .. (i made up kits ahead of time) .. they only take a handfull of minutes to make! then let the bubbles BLOW!

You betcha, Frannie! We are planning this festival for next June. It's far too late to successfully pull it off this year and have decent weather at the same time. But the more time we have to plan, the more stuff we can offer to our customers!

lisa .. i just used some very bendable wire that i had on hand .. don't know the size or weight .. you can go to the hardware store and 'play' with different wires. not too heavy and not too weak .. it needs to held it's shape but be manipulatable (now i do believe i jus' made up that word!) by children!

sooooooo easy to make .. teensy little ones will probably need some help. and yes, practice at home so you can see where you need to 'wrap' it to hold it's shape. (no plyers needed!)

have fun .. be sure to take pics and let us know how the kids loved this project if you decide to do it. xo

Frannie, those are wonderful! What weight of wire did you use? Was it easy enough for kids hands to manipulate? or do they need plyers to bend the wire? What a cool, cool idea. I so love it. I'll have to make a couple up myself for the grandkids to play with when they come for a visit!

Those are really cute Frannie. I bet the kids would love these (and adult kiddies too)! That would be really neat to see bubbles from those :-)
