Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 11:36:18 AM I am watching Funny Girl and toward the end of the movie, Barbra has a very current hair cut- short, layered in the back, bob in the front...I thought it was cute to see it come back around again.
Ok...I am just having a movie afternoon...

Posted - Aug 11 2008 : 6:48:29 PM I'm trying to let my hair grow out again but I get trims from time to time. I actually got my hair trimmed tonight. I like having it layered too as it gets too hot otherwise. I think I'm just going to let it get a little past my shoulders this time. But usually when it starts bugging me and I get it cut back to my neck again, mid-length I mean.

Posted - Aug 11 2008 : 11:14:36 AM Thanks Alee. But the humidity here in Louisiana does not care about what kind of product tame frizzy hair. I have tried them all. I once went on a Pilgrimmage with my best friend to the Holy Land. About three nights into the trip I washed my hair. My friend was amazed at how big my hair was! We still laugh about it. I just keep it long, pulled back, or in a pony-tail. You are such a sweetie, Alee! Miriam! I'll check that webpage out. No, I've never heard of that book, putting I'll check it out, too. Thanks. Posted - Aug 10 2008 : 7:42:11 PM Hey Marly and other curly-haired farmgirls-- Have you seen the book by Lorraine Massey called "Curly Girl"? It is a life-changer and life-saver for many curly haired gals. Also take a look at this webpage:www.ylcf.org/gotcurl Hope this might help someone! |

Posted - Aug 10 2008 : 09:57:31 AM Marly- They have some pretty cool hair products out there that help with frizzy hair. I wash my hair and then let it air dry right before I go to the hair saloon so my hair dresser can see it in it's natural and untamed state...which in all reality is how my hair normally is! LOL

Posted - Aug 09 2008 : 12:59:54 PM My hair is wavy, curly, frizzy, etc. I don't know what to do with it. It is long now. The pony-tail does it for me. When I go to the hairdresser, she's always asking why I always have it in a pony-tail! I should wear this mess down for her to show her why! LOL I hot-ironed it once, oh my, talk about wash it again fast. That slick stuff is not for me. I wish I had straight hair. That is not happening! I am really afraid to cut it. At least I can pull it back! Marly |

Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 2:39:30 PM I always wear mine long (it is thick and kinda wavy) with bangs of some sort...trying for a longer bangs thing most of the time...I can do alot more with it. I just feel like when I have had shorter hair it is so much more trouble..my hair has a mind of it's own and maybe being long helps control it or something. Every single time I have cut it..even if I loved the cut I never go back to maintain it..and end up growing it right back out. I do get it trimmed a few inches on the ends each year.. it is just below bra strap length right now.

Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 1:06:26 PM I actually prefer having long hair becuase I can pull it up in a ponytail, bun, or braids. I usually go in October and have it cut in a layered bob about 2" above my shoulders. Then I let it grow the rest of the year except for minor trims. I'm scheduled to have an cut next Tuesday. I think I'll continue to let it grow since it's so hot.
Blessings! ~Farrah www.homesteadblogger.com/keeperofthehome/

Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 12:55:50 PM I used to have that super long hair. Then I cut it all off. Now I can't stand to let it grow out beyond collar length. Last week I went in for a haircut and I told the stylist "I'm going to let it grow out, so don't take much off." Well, it's already driving me crazy, so I'm going back tomorrow to get that extra length taken off. Oh well, it's not like I'm working hard to grow hair. It just keeps doing it all by itself. |

Posted - Aug 08 2008 : 12:29:19 PM It seems a lot of farmgirls, myself included, have been getting hair cuts lately! It really is interesting to see styles come and go!
I really want long, beautiful hair like MaryJane, but I just couldn't stand the weight and heat any longer. So I am enjoying my new style! I love how much bulk I have taken out- my hair actually has lift and wave to it now instead of hanging like a plumb line off my head!
