Mornin' Girls!

Just a quick note to say I'm here in Illinois, I've started my new job and it's wonderful!
I've moved into my little coach house and the peace and quiet is so appreciated and blessed!

I'll pop on and catch up tonight with everyone. Been workin farmgirl hours and need to make some time to chat.

All work and no play makes Linda a very cranky girl!

I hope you all have a beautiful days filled with lovely surprises and kind people!

Love,

Linder

Kathie, I have lived in Homer Township my entire life & went to Lockport High School. Our area has changed greatly these past 48 years. It is no longer "country". The I-355 was finished last fall and the only thing holding more growth back is the economy. Once that gets back to normal I'm afraid we'll look like a city here.

We love Chicago too. The beaches, Millennium Park, all the museums, parks, and lake front are beautiful. We are members at Chicago Botanical Garden and Morton Arboretum and go to Cantigny Park in Wheaton all the time. We have lots to do in our area, which suits me just fine. I love being outside all the time.

I could never give my 4 seasons up for year round sunshine! My friends sister lived in FL for 10 years & always moaned about the lack of the changing seasons. She did like FL in the winter though. I prefer snow, the more the better! I do feel sorry you miss out on all of this!

Isn't It SUCH a SMALL World Toots!
I have Cousins In Lockport.. Its So CLOSE to Plainfield too isn't it!

Lets See.. the last time I was back was probably 5 years or so..
My Mom & 2 or her Sisters are still there. Most of My Cousins & their Familes..
They all still live in that vacinity.. Plainfield, Joliet, Morris Minooka, Channahon.. etc..
I pretty much lived my entire life In Plainfield though..
Elementary, Jr. High AND High School there.. Thats when there was JUST the ONE High School! Sure has grown ALOT Since then Hasn't it!!!!

How about you? Always been in that area?

I LOVE the Arts we had there In Chicago..
NOTHING at all like the Chicago Museums!
I REALLY Miss these things..
We SAY we have these things here in Tampa of course..
& I let them think there wonderful..But truly.. There's No comparison...!

But then.. We compromise with our Year round Sunshine..
Still no Season Change though..
So you need to feel very sorry for me please...

Wow Kathie, I grew up in Homer Township (Lockport)! Our area incorporated finally about 5 years ago & now we are called Homer Glen.

We were practically neighbors. When did you leave IL?

If it's trees you like, then make sure you take a ride out to Morton Arboretum in Lisle! It's beautiful all year long, but autumn & winter are my favorite season there. I work in the gardens on Tuesday at the arboretum. That's how much I love trees & gardening!

Thanks all for the wonderful welcome!
As a native of Washington State, I am in heaven to be in a state and area that is so lush and green! People must think I'm nutty because I keep touching the trees.
This farm girl has been in the desert WAY too long.
Man am I happy to be here!

You're not far from me! There is a wonderful Farmers Market in Oak Park on Lake Street - Saturday mornings. Not to miss! Be sure to stop at the back of the church for homemade donuts and check out the band! Good times!

Good Morning Miss Wilma! I need details about your gathering! Could you or Jonni forward the details to me, I'd love to come but need to plan ahead.

Hi Katie-ell! I'm living in Forest Park about a 1/2 hour away from Evanston (my favorite little city). Where are you now?

Yikes! Gotta run and get ready for work, will check back.

XOXO

Linda! Where are you in Illinois? I lived in a little coachhouse in Evanston 28 years ago . . . but that can't be where you are because it was torn down to make room for a large box of condos.

Hope to hear more of your IL adventures soon.
