Well, I finally finished moving out of my shop. I rented the biggest storage unit I could find (10' x 25'), my garage is stuffed (to my husband's disgust!) and our master bedroom is now looking remarkably similar to our storage unit. But these are some great antiques and fun pieces, so I can't just bring myself to get rid of them all. I did donate a full pick up and a full utility trailer to our church rummage sale and have had one garage sale. I just didn't realize, until I had to cram it all together, how much stuff I have!!
So if anyone is looking for anything specific, let me know. I will make you a great deal! I have antique dressers, a great old buffet, two ornate iron beds, tons of shelves and what-nots, a Duncan Phyffe dining table, linens, side tables, chairs, primitives, china, and everything under the sun. It is actually overwhelming!!! Anyway, I just want to see it all go to a good home, so if you are in the area and after something specific, let me know. I am excited to be moving in a new direction (I will share more down the road) but this profusion of stuff is really cramping my style!!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

I was out at the Latah Variety market, my god it is a good thing I didnt bring cash. I seriously could have taken home half the stuff from each of the vendors.

Hi Brenda,

So sorry I missed you at the Variety Market! We got there late and nearly everyone was gone. I hope you did well, and survived the heat okay.

Have a great week.

Hi Fielding! So glad to see you join us! I love all the farmgirls here! I have been debating doing your show, but have a few scheduling conflicts, so I am not sure. And Grace, yes, I do remember Vivian from my show. I am not sure how many more shows I will do, but she should have my info. from when she was in my show. When I first started doing shows, there was only one other one in the area and now there are soooo many! I think the competition is simply too much. Unless you have a real "gimmick" that sets yours apart from the others, there are just tons of barn/farm and grange sales popping up in the area.

I did decide to do a garage sale on Friday and Saturday at my home and then the sale at Latah Creek on Sunday. I advertised my sale as "Antique Shop Closes!" so hopefully that will draw people. I am just getting burned out on moving all the stuff from place to place. My husband works weird hours (he is a paramedic) and is rarely available and my sons are always busy too (teenagers! need I say more?!) I will do the Vintage Barn sale Sept 6 in Rathdrum. She is in the Sept. Country Living! and most likely that will be it. I may have a farmgirl "Come pilther through it all" party! LOL!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

P.S. Grace, I would LOVE your help on Sunday setting up!! What a kind offer!! I'll have my people call your people . . .

Hi Brenda,

It was good to see you a couple of weekends ago. I was sorry to hear about your store, and we miss your show too! We really had a good time doing the Past Blessings show with you. I know how difficult it can be though, its a lot of work to put on a show. Hope I can stop by and see you at the Latah show. I havent been down there yet, and my neigborhood and my vets office is part of the Latah Creek Retail Organization that runs it! I guess I dont get out much! Anyway, I just wanted to say 'hi', and let you that you we would love to have you sell some of your antiques at the Barn Bazaar Show on September 13th & 14th! It should be a fun show!

Talk to you soon!

Hi Grace,
Yes, it will be good to see you, Lucy!! I need a good laugh hearing of your latest adventures! I just found out they are switching things this month and I have to set up the morning of the show. Ugghhh! It is almost impossible to set up as quickly as that and then, since it is an open parking lot, you have people pilfering through your stuff before you are able to get it all set up. I am feeling a bit of a sense of panic on that one (for the record, I am a control freak! LOL!) but I a guess these things have a way of working out. The worst thing about a single morning set up, is I have to get it all in one load, which means bringing less stuff. I think I may do a sale at my house on Friday and Saturday and then just load up everything Sat. night for Sunday's sale. May as well make the weekend that much more worthwhile.

Well, I am off to a weekend camping trip at my friend's cabin on the Pend O'Reille River. Talk to you all soon!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

hey Brenda,
I'll pop over to the show @ Celestes,,,,unless life gets in the way. This weekend is the air show @ Fairchilds as well as Airway Height's Fest....
p.s., see I told you, you should buy the Alpaca ranch down the road, then you would have 5 acers to store all your wonderful goodies! wink wink!

Hi Fran,
Yes, I have lots of old linens. Email me and let me know what you are after. I will definitely make deals! I have some scrappy ones too . . . which are wonderful for crafts . . . on pillows, dolls, etc. I just have more than I can ever craft with in a life time. No old buttons though . . . I have a couple quart jars full, but that seems like "just the right amount" for my projects!

I do look forward to seeing several of you on the 17th! Julia I would love to see you. I do have several antique books . . . I am always especially drawn to the old children's readers. So sweet! I talked to our wonderful MaryJane yesterday and she is going to take my iron beds to replace hers that were distroyed when the tents caved in over the winter. I am a bit jealous of the serene life my old beds will be leading!! I have had a couple emails on the blue glass jars. I will have to count, but I think I have roughly a dozen blue quart jars with the old zinc and porcelain lids. I think I have a couple 1/2 gallon ones. I will keep one for my wild flowers, but will sell the other. The quarts are $2.50 and the 1/2 gallon are $5.00 plus shipping.

Thanks for all the support ladies!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Brenda I am so excited to hear about your show on the 17th I will definitely try to be there! I have found a little antiquing to be so healing for me right now. I need to get a babysitter and then head on out! Fantastic. I don't collect anything in particular with the one exception of books. I seem drawn to all kinds of books. I very much like art and nice frames. I don't know, I tend to need to snoop around a bit and something just grabs me! I'll really look forward to seeing your things and of course YOU! My very warm regards to you..~julia

Brenda, are you taking the shelves and "bottoms" to the 17th? I'd be willing to drive over to see what you have, but not sure if you're hauling all of the storage unit contents to Tidyman's. Let me know pretty please. Thanks!

Yes, Frannie, definitely kindred spirits . . . or affected with the same incurable ailment! LOL!

Yes, Melanie, I have many old blue quart jars as well as 1/2 gallon jars. I have the old zinc lids with the porcelain liners too. I would only want $2.50 plus whatever shipping costs are. Drop me an email and let me know.

I have primitive shelves, treenware, etc. I love prims too. I can try to get some pics. This is my issue . . . it is all crammed (and honeys I do mean crammed!! LOL!) into the mini storage and my garage. It is truly hard to get to most of it. My sweet hubby helped me move it, but his method was "Fast and furious" not with any sense of order or sense to leave a pathway! He meant well, bless his heart, but the outcome was not quite what I would want.

I don't think I have a cupboard quite as you describe. I do have some tops and bottoms that can be "married" though. I have a couple great old cupboards that would have been built ins from an early day kitchen. They are loaded with potential.

I am going to do a one day show on Sunday, August 17th, so hopefully after that I can get a sense of order. If anyone is in the area, it will be at the Latah Creek Vintage Market, which is just south of Spokane, off the Colfax/Pullman highway on the Cheney-Spokane road. It is by the Trading Company (used to be a Tidymans). They do it once a month and it is great. Everything from antiques to rose bushes. So I will pull out what I can get to and hopefully move forward from there.

I did have to close my shop. Made me sad, but I know it was the right thing to do. I just did big monthly sales, as I wanted to keep time for my family . . . especially during the school years with all of the boy's sports, etc. I have three teenaged boys. Anyway, only doing month sales, caused me to simply "break even" with things, by the time I paid rent, utilities, etc. So I needed to either jump in deeper and give it more time or get out. I felt very much like I needed to put my family first. I have some other fun things up my sleeve, so I am not discouraged . . . just moving on to a new chapter in life . . . but needing to lose some of the stuff from the last chapter! LOL!

Thanks for the support girls!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Brenda, I have spent the last 2 days going to every antique store in the Palouse (many weren't open) and I am looking for a narrow (30" or less wide) stepback cupboard or primitive little hutch to not only display a few pretties but also with a drawer or shelves below to hold my table linens and placemats. Anything like that in your storage? I found some cute stuff at Hen Chicks or something like that in Colfax but they were too much $ for my budget and they didn't look quite old enough (more like reproductions of old stuff).
You can email me if you have anything like that.
Thanks.

Brenda,
Can't you run a newspapper ad, "SELLING ANTIQUES"? I would think you would get a lot of calls. Then you could show it by appointment.

Do you by any chance have something like that?
