Frannie- The Egyptian Event is a huge horse event in Lexington each year specifically for Egyptian Arabians and Egyptian Related Arabians.

p.s. i'm sure that kathy will take all the 'good stuff' .. she is a marvel and using 'pieces' and turning them into something wonderful ... like the white fence, watering can, some of the olde advertizing boxes, wood slats and panels, olde wooden framed window, etc. i'm sure all we'll have to take to the dump is the rusty metal .. and ha! she might even be able to do something grande with that! i would do the same if i wanted to ... but i jus' don't "wanna" to. xo

honestly don't want a lot of 'strangers' coming down to our little private holler ... we are so tucked into the woods .. and truly only like for friends to amble down the road. remember .. we are at a 'dead end' .. and we have the two dawgs.
before we had the fence built .. there was a direct trail to the woods for four-wheelers. one day before hank moved here .. i was outside in my underoos and t-shirt and the puppies .. when about 40 four-wheelers came whipping down our 'private' road to go onto our property in the woods .. one of them hit CABIN (he wasn't hurt badly .. but he was a puppy .. and the guy did NOT stop to see if he was hurt!!) ... i've had a fence put at the edge of the dirt trail that goes into the woods with a PRIVATE PROPERTY sign .. and have a PRIVATE ROAD sign at the top of the hill.
i have indeed heard of some scary stories about being isolated here and robberies .. and worse! surely don't want to invite trouble down here.
now if someone who has heard of us through friends comes down to see and meet .. i adore that! and have met some wonderful friends that way.
we have something called TRADIO here in kentucky .. they announce on this radio station what you have to TRADE (or GIVE) away .. but .. if i did that with all i have to 'release' .. that would become a JOB too. now gurlz .. i won't burn REAL TREASURES .. that's for sure! this stuff is so olde and rickety and rusty .. and believe me .. kentucky farmers would scratch their heads and wonder why it wasn't burnt LONG AGO!

I wish I knew for sure if I am coming down for the Egyptian Event next year- I would say "Hold on to it! We'll pack the horse trailer full!" LOL

alee darlin' .. if i had a place to put it 'for free' .. i'd do so .. but it is so private down here in this hollar .. people don't pass through .. cuz' they would end up in the forest! (our teensy little 'goat trail' road dead ends in front of our home .. and it is 1/2 mile off any main road.
ha! i'd get arrested for 'littering' if i just put it somewhere .. and there SURELY is no room in my antiques booth for it.
i'm thinking kathy will take it .. and maybe luna might amble over to get some more (she wanted wooden boxes .. and i do believe some of those will make it to the pile from off my back porch!) the rest .. surely won't be missed by the rest of the world. rusty (beyond use) metal farm tools and such.
holy cow gurlfren .. if you saw inside my SCHOOLHOUSE .. and saw 'the good stuff' in boxes .. you'd see why this little pile of mess is no biggie. (i'm gonna' have to take some pictures of INSIDE the SCHOOLHOUSE someday!)

oh sandra .. i just LOVE your philosophy! i remember when i first met hank .. i already had the two girls .. we were falling in love .. and he told me something i have never forgotten .. and have lived by ever since that day:
YOU MUST LOVE YOURSELF FIRST .. for if you are not happy .. you cannot possibly make others happy. i have found this to be soooooooooo TRUE!

I USED to multi-task with the best of them...but when menopause left it took the multi-tasking and the nurturing bones right out of me! Now, I only do one thing at a time and I don't want any responsiblity or to have to BE responsible for anyone but MOI...I owe my life to the big M!!!!
P.S. It also took the guilty bone too....no more guilt about anything...I can't even make myself feel guilty and I can say NO real easy now too! Ha! Ha!

hey sweetie .. i am a whiz bang fast typist .. and can think and talk and chew gum all at the same time!!! i run up here every now and then and send and answer e-mails .. and hit my 'forums' to chat with the gurlfrenz.
i'm thinking kathy sugarbucket might haul some of this off when she comes to paint our floors on wednesday! i just have tooooooooo much to want to haul this down to glovers station. i thought of a 'yard sale' .. but i don't have the time or patience right now to do that. ohhhhhhh jus' wait t'il i get to the 'good stuff' .. i will be flingin' it right and left!

I love the "new" look but you can't mean you're going to burn all that COOL stuff????? Can't you put it in someone's store and with sign saying FREE for the Taking? Soemone would be thrilled with that stuff! Who am I kidding....MOI would be thrilled with that stuff....I know it's hard to throw it out to begin with and once you do you have to get rid of it or you'll drag it back in! That's what happens to me anyway....for me to "let go" is major...I have "issues" LOL! Lots of issues too! Ha! HA!
It does look REALLY nice though Frannie....I like the new look...I think it makes you appreciate each individual thing more. The barn is GORGEOUS and I love the shelves....how do you chat online and still get so much done? YOu are a whiz!
