I am out in the studio working and the tv out here only gets local channels and I was tired of listening to golf so I grabbed the portable dvd player we got as a gift and plugged it into the little tv and put in anne of green gables.

I just finished reading "Before Green Gables" last night. It was an excellent book! The author did a superb job explaining every facet of Anne's personality and life. You could see she did very detailed research for this book and it shows. I think every "Anne" fan would enjoy this book, especially if you just finished watching all those dvd's and everything is still fresh in your mind! Be prepared to shed a few tears too.

Brooke, you're NEVER TOO OLD to watch them again! You can get copies of all SEVEN seasons of Avonlea on Amazon and ebay. Or you can go straight to the Sullivan Entertainment website and order them --- but they ship all the way from CANADA!!

I love those movies as well. I use to show them to my 5th grade class as a reward on Friday afternoons. The kids loved them too.

Road to Avonlea is a spin-off of Anne of Green Gables. They make regular references to Anne and Gilbert and some of the "original" Characters-- funny, because A LOT of the characters that were in the original Anne movies play different (and some of the SAME) characters in the Avonlea series. It's fun to pick them all out and try to remember who they played in the Anne movies. You would really like the series if you saw it. ~~ Tracy

I LOVE those movies! I have all three, plus the first season of "Road to Avonlea" (though I have to admit, I have home-taped videos of practically the WHOLE series-- but the quality is not that good, so I'm now adding the REAL dvds to my collection). I also have the "Sarah Plain and Tall" series. Such good, wholesome movies that I NEVER get tired of!!! ~~~ Tracy
