Definitely cooking. My grandfather was a master baker from Bavaria and my grandmother was a cook for wealthy families in Albany, NY in the 1920's. They started a restaurant together and it ran for over 50 years, I ran it for 9 of them. Every holiday revolves around food in my family, it scares my sister in laws. I have to start cooking over a week ahead of time.

I love BOTH, but if I had to choose, I would pick sewing. If I make a quilt, it will maybe keep my great granchildren warm..it will be a vital and useful thing for many, many years..if I cook a wonderful meal ... it will nourish and sustain...but then...well let's face it..that meal isn't going be put in any museum..it going to go "south" if you know what I mean!

I think sewing..most days anyhow..but I would hate to not be able to cook either. I can get more lost in sewing..and thats fun.

That's too hard to decide, so sometimes I do both. I put a loaf of bread in the machine and put on a canner of soup or a roast in the oven. Then I retreat to my sewing room and work on a project. It is just heavenly, I feel like I'm doing all that I should be doing to make my house a home. I know I am usually never short for words, but it's hard to describe just how that makes me feel - it's more than wonderful. Just writing about it now, makes me want to shut down my work station and leave the office. There's nothing better for me - well maybe if the grandbabies were over it would be, but then I wouldn't be sewing. It's all good!

Have a splendid day doing whatever your heart desires using your God-given gifts; your heart will swell with joy and you will be comforted with His peace.

In His hands,
Lynda

Cooking - because it makes the house smell so good! However, becoming involved in this site has rekindled my interest in sewing - maybe that's why I haven't been able to sell my 20 year old sewing machine in any of our garage sales!

Sewing -- I can go off in my own little room and have relaxing time to myself. Plus I don't have to clean up dirty dishes!

cooking because you don't get needles stuck in your thumb while you cook.

you can be oh so smart, or you can be oh so positive. I wasted a lot of time being smart I prefer being positive.
