Yuppers and wowzers! Yes, I know that postage is a TON. That is one of the reasons why I am not doing any swaps (right now at least). I remember at Christmas time with all of the swaps that I was in was just nuts....80 bucks...one of the packages went across the border into Canada...eeek! Good idea Alee with FedEx..that is a good price, plus you can normally track the shipments.

Oh yes Frannie!! I have definitely noticed that postage rates are very high!! I like to sell on Ebay from time-to-time and I buy on Ebay frequently and the prices are always so high!!!

When I was in Mexico this summer my dad had to send me my glasses because I forgot them at home (I am completely and literally blind without glasses or contacts and I didn't want to have to wear contacts every day and all day). He sent the glasses in a very small box and it costed $70...just for a little pair of glasses. It took weeks for them to arrive because the mexican post is so unreliable and when they arrived I had to pay and extra $20 for taxes...taxes on an old scratched pair of glasses!!!! So the total spent for this pair of glasses was $90...I cold have purchased a brand new pair in Mexico for that much money!!

Thanks for the tip Alee. I'd feel kinda like a traitor going to Fed Ex, but... I may just have to. My sis works for the USPS and you know we always wanna keep our family in a job. But you gals are right, the shipping through USPS is outrageous!

Frannie- They will, and since you ship so much it might be worth it. There is a pick-up fee though Not too bad if you are shipping a lot though. Just give a really good estimate on your weights. They weigh and measure everything and I have only rarely had them charge more than what I had estimated. You fill in all the shipping info and print the labels right out there on your printer. Since they are printed I make sure to put them in a ziploc baggie and then tape them onto the box so no water can ruin the label. Fed-Ex will re-print the label if it gets ruined though. And the few times they have broken a bottle or two- I just submit a claim online and they get me a check for the value I submitted in less than 2 weeks. When the post office broke several boxes of bottles, they took over 2 months to get me my check...AND they didn't reimburse me for the wasted postage which Fed-Ex will.

Oh most certainly, Frannie! Shipping the glass milk bottles about made me swallow my tongue a few times. I'll give you a hint. Open a Fed-Ex online account. You get 15% off shipping! I just sent a package down to Shreveport the other day from way up here in Montanta...and it was only $7 and some change! And Fed-Ex has always been great about getting things there safe and sound!

debra darlin' .. you are so right .. it always does! i think i feel it hardest cuz' i always seem to let boxes pile up before i get to the postie .. and then WOWZER! .. but then, with the price of gasoline .. (and our nearest post office is a twenty-mile round trip for me!) it would cost twice as much (or more). AND our local little post office has limited hours .. soooooo .. when i'm on my way to town .. it is not always open. HA! not to mention that i usually let them sit in a pile somewhere or in the back of the van for WEEKS before i actually get to the post office!

oh brooke sweetie .. absolutely NO NEED to send any pennies. my breath wuz jus' taken away for a moment when she announced the postage price to me .. HONESTLY .. not complaining .. i'm so happy some gurlfrenz get to have a few of my treasures ... i wuz' jus' sharin' it with ya'll gurlfrenz as if you'd been there beside me hackin' up a furrball along with me at the price of postage. xoxo

Frannie, The price of postage is terrible, I was going to mail some books to Canada the other day and the lady said twenty something dollars and I just stood there. Wow! So I mailed it a different way and it was 7 something.

Dear frannie, do you want me to give you some money ... I know the price of postage is outrageous ... something I just sent in the mail was a shocker for me too ..I thought it would be cheaper and it was more than I thought! Cost more than what was in the box! I understand....
