Posted - Jul 29 2008 : 11:00:56 AM OMG! My younger daughter just called me crying hysterically telling me she just called 911 as she thought there was a fire in their house (living situation: duplex, she and two other girls in one side, 2 guys in the other). Turned out that the boys left a pan cooking on the stove (long story) and that's what was burning. There wasn't any damage except alot of smoke in the boys' side. Long story short, it made me realize that we had let her renter's insurance lapse when she was moving around. With all the young kids going off to college and moving into apartments this time of year I thought I would just post this to remind everyone to think about whether this is something that needs considered!! She will have renter's insurance again by the end of today! |

Posted - Jul 29 2008 : 1:42:01 PM Wow! Thanks for the reminder Suzanne! Also it is a good idea to always have a couple of fire extinguishers handy. I know from first hand that you don't always remember where one is- but if you have 2 or 3 you have a better chance of remembering at least one's location.
