I got a very cool book from half-price books on the clearance aisle for only 2 bucks! It is "The Gardener's Weather Bible" by Sally Roth and it's from it's from Rodale. "A Rodale Organic Gardening Book".. I remember going to Rodale when I was in my teens (also visited the Amish and Shakers then as well..) .. I loved Rodale and am wanting to go back in the future ... I wouldn't doubt you could find this book on amazon? But if not... on the back it says, http://www.rodalestore.com and http://www.organicgardening.com
for anyone interested. It's a very NEAT book!!

I was a silly girl ... whenever I'd pout, I'd think about running away to the Amish .... think about that .. a kid running away to the Amish????? LOL.

I just looked at amazon and found you can buy it new for 49 cents plus 3.99 shipping but it's paperback ..Mine is hardback and has a neat cover...

That is really sweet and considerate of what you did, Sandra. I know he appreciated it and it probably made us worldly folk look good. lol.

I love Rodale books too! Thanks for the websites! I could be Amish except they would kick me out! I love their simple way of life but I'm a feminist and trust me the first time they tried to marry me off to someone I'd throw a fit and that would be the end of it! LOL! But I do try to be self-sufficient and lead a simple life without harming anyone or anything and my grandparents dressed like them...does that count?
We had some colonies in Iowa and one day A young man was driving his buggy and his hat flew off and he was having problems with his horse so I pulled over and got his hat for him. He was a young man and thanked me profusely and said the horse was young and he was training him. The Amish have wonderfully gentle horses because of the way they train them and the fact that they don't want the children getting hurt by them. Anyway....I love those people....they're more my speed!

Well, at my age, I do run away to the Amish when I get rattled. They live right next door and they welcome me with open arms! I think you'd like running away to them! Susan
