Posted - Jul 27 2008 : 07:42:21 AM You know, my fil loves it when I buy him fishing magazines.. Men usually don't buy themselves a magazine. He loves to fish so I get him every fishing mag I can find, throw in a package of picnic sausage, a good chocolate bar and he is in heaven.. What are your fil's hobbys? they have magazines for everything.
Blessings, Debra

Posted - Jul 27 2008 : 07:33:55 AM Hmm....with the beekeeping there are a couple of Bee girls here on the board. A book may be handy on beekeeping or a fun bee book. You might could ask the MIL if there is a particular "wish list" for his beekeeping stuff, perhaps a new smoker or hat with the netting. Or if he makes candles or other products, purchasing a few supplies. I don't know if there is a recipe book out there with honey, etc or what to do with beeswax, honey, etc.

Posted - Jul 26 2008 : 1:51:22 PM I always gave my father-in-law a signed book, something he was interested in reading. So, whenever I would hear someone signing books and selling them at the bookstore, I'd be there. Of course, when he died I got all the books back. Marly |

Posted - Jul 26 2008 : 1:47:57 PM Does he have any hobbies? My father in law is a photographer outside of work, shooting weddings (he did ours, too) and is constantly taking photos. We usually get him film--no joke. We buy him all different types for his 35 mm and he's happy as a clam.
For other "men" that are hard to buy for (my boss, my law associate) I usually do gift cards to bookstores or restaurants (Chipotle) that they can get lunch on, or when they're travelling for depositions, and get in and get out.

Posted - Jul 26 2008 : 09:38:39 AM What kind of occupation is he in? Does he have a favorite restaurant? We usually do gift cards at Cracker Barrel because you just can't go wrong with a good ole plate of pancakes and biscuits there!
