I just realized I can't pick a favorite season.

I love Spring. I love the gentle fading of winter's cold to twittering birds and green grass. I love the rebirth of the world. It feels so fresh and new. And of course seeing all the baby animals is amazing.

Summer is great because crops are growing, strawberries are coming. The heat makes swimming in the swimming hole feel so amazing! Wonderful summer barbecues and summer vacation.

Fall is glorious in her beautiful colors. The crisp air is such a relief after the baking summer sun. I always have a feeling of sweet anticipation during the fall- a left over from the first day of school I think! I love the smell of Crayola crayons, freshly sharpened wooden pencils and those pink Pearl erasers. I look forward to turkey dinner and pumpkins.

Then of course Winter! Beautiful Winter! Blankets of snow soften the edges on the world. Frost, ice, and snow make everything sparkle and shine. The world looks new again! Skiing and ice skating are so much fun! Great exercise! And of course sipping on hot cocoa or apple cider by a toasty warm fire!

How could you pick a favorite season? Is it fair to say my favorite season is the one I am in?

Ugh! I think the Southwest is not the place for me. I need my cool season! It's like the heat builds up in my bones or something. I need the Winter and Spring to prepare me for the Summer!

Wow! Well put, Alee! I do agree with you. I love the season change!! I spent 20+ years in Tucson and I really missed the change of seasons while down there. To me it is a more complete cycle of life to have 4 seasons instead of just 2 - hot and hotter!! Once some major life changes occurred and I no longer had a reason to stay there, I didn't just walk - I ran north!!

You can take the farmer's daughter off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the farmer's daughter!!

Thanks Michelle! I love the change. Just as I start to get worn out with a particular Season, it's changing faces on me and I get a whole new set of wonders to explore.

Why pick a favorite season? Variety is the spice of life! I enjoy living in a place with 4 distinct seasons. I did live for a time in a "wet or dry" season place, and that was fine too. But having 4 changes it up more often. I think you have a great attitude Alee!

We make a difference.

That's so funny Sandra! Thanks for the compliment! I have just decided that I need to be happy where ever I am at and no matter what Mother Nature is doing. It really does help my moods a lot if I am not railing against something I just can't change. We have one little fan and one little AC machine. So I try to appreciate the oasis that is my house when I come in from outside.

Alee...if only more people could be like you and enjoy the moment! To me that IS the secret to happiness! Although...I've been out weeding this morning and it is 88 and hot and muggy and wet so I am TRYING to appreciate summer in the South but what I am really appreciating is my AC when I come in to take a break!!!!
