Posted - Jul 23 2008 : 3:02:41 PM ... to go to Wal-mart and ask for cheese-cloth and wicks for oil lamps. The girls working there didn't even know what cheesecloth was and looked at me with a blank look like..where did you come from? lol... and my husband said... Leave it to ME to ask for something most people have no idea about!
But what do you know.... I found what I was looking for. (pretty much on my own!)

Posted - Jul 23 2008 : 3:59:41 PM ROFL! That is too funny, Aunt Jenny! I have had lots of people give me that look or even say "Don't you just buy soap in the store?" Nope! I love my hand made soaps It's always a treat to wash with them and now commercial soaps make my skin crawl. It feels like a scum is left behind.

Posted - Jul 23 2008 : 3:42:41 PM That reminds me of one time a few years back in CAlif..when I went to the store to buy a couple candy thermometers for soap making..I had let my kids use mine for some experiment or other and they ruined them. Anyway..I went into the store (a big chain drug and discount type store) and asked where they would be and the lady looked at me funny (could be that I was wearing overalls too) and asked what I needed two for..when I said I was using them for soap making (one for the lye solution and one for the fats) she said (very seriously) ...we sell regular soap right here..did you know that?
