Space is so amazing to me. I love the fact that scientists are exploring space and I do thnk it is important. I know that our main fous should be our own planet at this point in time, and to solve our own problems, but what if a solution to some of our problems is actually found by studying space? That would be cool indeed!

Did you really work for NASA Frannie? What did you do?

I have to agree with the other ladies-- I think the money is better spent to help the people here on earth. But I TOO love to see the pictures and read about the increadable things going on in space! ~~Tracy~~

No. It just doesn't seem like it's worth the expense to me.

I tend to think the money could be used here on earth too. There are so many needs. Space is facinating, but there are hungry folks down here.

I love the sciences. I tend toward ancient history...on earth...but love phots from space. It would be nice that those with the means to add more grant money to space-related projects, from private sources. The government should add, but as stated above, they need to be sure that everyone in the states has food and medical care and adequate jobs and housing.

I really think we have done all we can in space and honestly, if I had to live there, I wouldn't go... I spent to much time on Naval ships to have my dose of living in an enclosed, stinky, space with no way out...

I agree with putting that money into focusing on our lovely planet Earth. It's the only one we got.

I have the greatest respect for anyone who can do that job, especially those who acted as guniea pigs in the beginning and to those who lost their lives doing it, I salute them. I just think times have changed and there are more important urgent issues. Hurricane Katrina victims anyone?? Wars?? Costs of gas??? The economy??

Haha...I'll open another can of worms and say the money that we can use instead of going to space will probably be used to perpetuate more wars. Yup, my two cents

No I think it is a waste of a lot of money and resources that could be going towards much more important issues right here.

My husband agrees with you big time Tammy. I feel like that too in my head. But, I don't know space just fascinates me. I guess it just appeals to the adventurer in me. I can still remember sitting and watching the first moon landing in 1969 with my Grandma and my daughter Maggie, I was just awe struck. My Dad was a big space fan too. Ran in the family I guess.

I know I may open up a can of worms here, but I think that right now, we should be concentrating on theissues here on earth. Things such as hunger, medical insurance, cures for diseases, our economy, gas prices, etc..should be coming first.

I do enjoy reading about things that pertain to space on occasion, but space exploration should be put on the backburner until some of the more important issues have been dealt with. There are too many things going on here that need our governments attention.

Just my opinion :)
