~~ CAN'T WAIT ~~ Going to see Mamma Mia! with Meryl Streep tonight!!! My Hubby and I saw it several years ago on Broadway when we were in NYC ..... we saw it when one of the traveling Broadway groups came through and we LOVE IT!!!! So excited to see the movie. It is such a Wonderful Uplifting story!!! The music is so HAPPY!!! If you can't get to see the play in the Theatre or the new Movie ~ rent it when it comes out on DVD cause you will not be able to help yourself from >>> Dancing Around the House!!! Or outside in the garden or wherever (I know I've danced around the house every time I play the music!!!! :)) ..... cause it is sooooooo Wonderfully Contagious!!!!

Wishing Everyone a Happy Uplifting Weekend...."Here I go Again" La, La, La, La!!! You gotta see the Story!!!!!

Until Later,

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!! saw MAMA MIA tonight too ... it is ABSOLUTELY, COMPELETY, AND TOTALLY MY VERY MOS' ALL-TIME FAVORITEST FILM I'VE EVER SEEN! it was so much fun watching and listening to the audience too. (saw it in louisville) .. the audience laughed, and giggled and 'chortled' .. tapped their feet and CLAPPED (like it was a LIVE PLAY!) i expected to look up to find them dancing in the aisle! what a JOYOUS film!

meryl streep's part reminds me so much of my best childhood girlfriend, GRACE (even LOOKS like her) .. the feisty little dark-haired friend .. reminds me of my fun, fun, fun friend from Maryland, Cyndi .. who you PEE your pants laughing at her stories!

AND .. me .. i wanna' be the ageing, foxy lady played by Christine Baranski!!! I SMILED through the entire movie .. except the love song between Meryl ... and i won't say WHO in case you haven't seen the movie yet. I CRIED tears of nostalgic joy during the scene where mother was helping daughter to dress for her wedding. The daughter reminds me so much of my own precious WEDNESDAY .. big blue eyes and long blonde hair .. and soooooo SWEET!

the ending is FABULOUS! people did not want to leave the theatre afterward and most stayed and laughed and talked about the movie!

for me it is an ACADEMY AWARD WINNER! (not so sure the 'musicals' get chosen these days .. but this one certainly deserves it .. what ENERGY .. what EXCITEMENT .. what cute story .. what FABULOUS characters ... and i was transported back to our trip to GREECE which made it even more wonderful.

GATHER some GURLFRENZ and go see it together!!!

xo, frannie

Danced in the kitchen to it MANY times as a wee one, Audrey! I always enjoyed the energy of the music. I sure wish I was close to NM--my mom could shop in Taos, and we could go to the film!!!

Sounds like a wonderful time, both Audrey and Amy! The first album (yes, I said album) my mother ever bought me was Abba's greatest hits. I've always loved the music, and really want to see the movie, but I'm afraid I'll have to do it on my own...dh wouldn't see if even if there was a million dollars waiting for him!

Have a great time.....hubby and I may see it on Sunday afternoon. But here in a couple of weeks, the Sweet Adeline chorus that I am with is going to rent out a small theater at the one movie place and have our own Mama Mia party! Can't wait :) Our same group went to New York a couple of years ago on a musical our trip and saw it on Broadway...it was great!

Since I first saw the commercial about Mamma Mia, I have been so excited about this movie. I have been counting the days. But, pooh, I just got off work at 3 pm and my semi-retired husband was called into work tonight. Also, I'm not sure if Mama Mia has made it to Dickson yet. I love Abba's music. If we don't go to the movies to see it, we will rent it for sure.
