Hmmm, let's see - I'd be crocheting, sewing, feeding the birds, trying my hand at gardening, sitting by the campfire, doing other crafts, reading, writing, relaxing, eating, and sleeping!

Oh, sewing, knitting, embroidery, all kinds of glorious handcrafts!!!

Gardening too, a girl's gotta eat!

And I hope a kitty might be in the cabin as well to keep me company. ;)

Oh and comfy clothes all the time for SURE! The outdoor bathtub thing that MaryJane talks about would be fun to try as well. :D

Actually, Corrine, that naked thing didn't even occur to me. I suppose after I was alone for a while, it might ;)

Melanie, you just need more practice with shooting. It's possible, that your just a little afraid of the weapon you were using and that would absolutely throw your aim off. You should try starting with something small, like a BB or pellet gun until you feel comfortable with it and then you'll hit your target. Then you could move up to something a bit bigger like a .22. This is how most people learn to shoot as they start with the smaller weapons as youngsters.

Same with the light green thumb. You just need more time to practice. It'll turn dark green soon enough!

Oh my. This cabin would be awesome. I would be able to finish all my scrapbooks, eat chinese, Japanese, and any other food with vegetables that the kids don't like. It would have girlie movies and books. It would have a fun garden for me to work in when I didn't have to scrap. It would also give me a chance to learn to weave, and sew and make some Christmas gifts.

Somebody wanna tell me where this place is? I wanna go.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

It takes an amazing amount of food to keep one healthy and satisfied, so I would do a lot of hunting, fishing and preserving of foods. Depending on where this magical cabin was, I would have a huge deer proof garden. In my spare time, I would read books, write and finish my novel, go on long hikes, find beautiful scenes to just sit and absorb.

We actually do have a cabin in the mountains and I used to take a week at the end of the school year and go up there by myself. It was amazing. I loved every minute of it. The first and second day you try and fill up quiet with noise (radio or whatever) but soon that become an intrusion and it is heaven to just live on your own cycle with no need to follow an artificial schedule! Ah Heaven!

I don't think I could hunt, but I could fish for sure. I would plant a garden, build a home for a few chickens, and search for edible native plants to begin learning how to really live off the land. Of course, I would have to haul my craft room with me. I might actually get something done in a cabin in the woods!! I would also write about my adventures for my family who will come to find my withered body crumpled over the craft table with unfinished projects all around me and a thought bubble over my head that says "I thought I could do it all!!"

I would have to say: Hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, journaling, crafting, eating and sleeping. Although I dont know how to hunt I might try it but if all else fails I am going vegetarian and eating from the garden, lol

yep yep yep .. i'd probably do mos' of what all the other gurlz are doing. (well, except the hunting thing .. i can't even swat a fly .. i jus' shoo 'em outta' the house! .. OH .. wait a minute! when those nasty little asian beetle lady-bug like things show up in the millions .. i do SUCK them up in the vacuum and they are 'on their own' to live or die!) now .. i might starve to death if i didn't learn to hunt .. unless i could do a veggie garden and had some nice fruit trees around that cabin!

OF COURSE .. i'd make dollies, hook rugs and continue all the fun 'crafty' things i love to do .. and JOURNAL! JOURNAL! JOURNAL!

lovin' your answers gurlz!

YOu crack me up Corrine. I don't know about running around nekkid but I would sure dress exactly how I wanted all the time...major comfort for sure. I would probably skip the bra completly and wear nothing tight, or fashionable..and only shoes that make my feet feel good.

I'd love to say everything the gals above mentioned, but honestly I can't do half of what they said. I'm just a farmgirl at heart. *sigh*
To be totally honest... I've tried hunting. Can't hit the broad side of a barn. My mom's friend tried to teach me to shoot numerous times before he passed away. He even had a friend of his that had been a sniper in the service try to teach me to no avail.
I can fish. Used to be pretty good at it. But I never cared for eating them. Guess I would have to live on berries and pray I picked the right ones.
I could do some gardening, half of it might make it through. My thumb is only light green, not dark green.
I wouldn't freeze to death though. If there's one thing I have leared from my dad it's how to chop firewood and start a fire.
But I guess most of my time would be spent talking to myself, reading and hiking.
I would enjoy the first few days to week, but after that I would be absolutley stir crazy. I always say I want peace and quiet when the kids are on a rampage, but when I get it and have had it for a day or so, I really want the pitter patter of lil feet and the screamin she hit me back. And of course I don't know how I'd get through all those sleepless nights if I couldn't come on here and yap to all of you!!

i agree with all the other girls...a year is a long time to fill by oneself, so i'd have pleanty of time to hike, garden, write, sew, etc. but one thing i would love about being by myself in a remote location would be the freedom to run around naked as much as i like. honesty...i'm sure you girls would too.
