I would say Irish or British culture... wait, Italian would be nice too. Oooh, choices choices!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Well technically I was born in another culture than where I live now. I was born in New England and now live in Arkansas. Many may not believe it but it is a big change. When I first came to college I suffered depression for the first few years I was in Arkansas because the change was so big. It didn't help that everyone always referred to me as the "damn yankee" eaither. I love Arkansas now but it was a huge adjustment. I think it was good for the people where I live cause I think I have changed their opinion about the "damn yankees".

France--the women there eat yummy food, dress simple but classy and the architecture would keep me occupied for years.

I'd love to be born in Ireland, since that's where my ancestors are from.

Aunt Jenny, immediately after reading your post the Tim McGraw version of a song came into my head - "half Cherokee and Chocktaw...". I'm sure that song may be offensive to Native Americans but it's interesting how a phrase can spur a song memory so fast.

Frannie, you're right...you get us thinking about things and sharing and I love the diverse answers and thoughts!

Well lets see- If I had to be born into another culture, I think I would want to be born in ancient Greece! I have always been fascinated with the ancient cultures- wondering why a certain art or whathaveyou died out.

ahhh yes .. jami .. i do love 'the question game' .. i think we all get to know each other better and that is how 'true friendships' are made. AND .. we get to know ourselves a little better to for having thought about 'things' and answered them for ourselves. aren't all the answers to these questions great!!!

Aunt Jenny - I have Cherokee and Choctaw too (from my dad's side).

I would be that too ......or from Ireland/England (of which I am and it shows..lol) ... I would be terribly happy in a little cottage by the sea with bookshelves and herbs hanging in my kitchen with an aga stove and sheep and all that .....

Native American. I am 1/4 Indian..Cherokee and Choctaw..but since it comes from both sides...my parents were both 1/4 and their parents too, it has been awhile back since there is any of the culture for sure. I have always been interested.

That's a tough one.... I have always wanted to go to see the countries my ancestors came from-- England, France and Germany, but I would also love to see Italy.
I guess I will pick Italy. As far as I know there's no Itailian ancestors (so far anyway). Italy just seems very romantic, exotic but also very down to earth at the same time. Mysterious combination.

Aren't you just the little philosopher!!!

I would live in the UK somewhere, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, etc. Ancestors are from there, love sheep and green moors (package deal there) and rock fences with rural life in a small village on the outskirts raising sheep, going to local herding competitions and riding horses and develop myself as a tea drinker with a wee bit 'o nip o' something in the lambing barn on those cold nights in spring checking the barn. I would like to find my family lineage folks and establish a relationship and live a simple homemade life in the mist...and be able to farm next to the ocean. I wouldn't own a car and I would walk or ride everywhere. Well, you asked!! It's my little fantasy.
