While some of us farmgirls, are masters at braiding and weaving and sewing.. or their thumbs are green as green ~ and I can "see each of you in what you do" So,I am a gal that loves Words.. and people.. I love when I can find oppertunities to "weave those two things together... So while I cannot post my latest project per se.. I thought I would post a little something I wrote a while back.. as a little peak at me...

The Book of Me -

I tend to see me as an open book, until I see the faces of others giving me that un-knowing look. While I know that I can be complicated at best, I also know that I can easily be deciphered if someone takes the time to invest.

I know that my heart is big and my compassion runs deep, and I would have to admit it is perplexing when others feel that the mountain that is me; is a mountain to steep.

And I find it amazing, as I try to figure this all out; how blessed I am to be surrounded by friends that see my heart. In the times that I feel abandoned and misunderstood, by family or others.. it is they, these friends that remind me, I am still “God’s work of art”.

Why is it, I wonder almost out loud; that some will take the time to read me, and to see me as I am … while others, no matter what will refuse to see me clearly? I find myself exhausted at times, with the fight, to convince those that won’t see… and in the quiet of the moment I am reminded, that if they would take the time to see my heart… then they could truly see me.

While I can be an open book, spread out and exposed… If you never pick it up - I guess you will never know. And can I really fault you, if you have never taken the time to read between the lines? Or take the time to look more deeply then the title you have stamped on my spine.

I suppose there will always be those, whether, family or others… that will think they have the answers as to how I am (while at the most read the cliff note version). I am learning that I ought not to take the assessment of the critic who hasn’t read the book.. In-stead; choose to rely on the words of the ones that with me, the journey have took.

While I am not yet at the end of my last chapter, through the process of living I have learned the healing of laughter. My book has sad pages, and pages of joy, it has stained ones from tears, happy and sad and every emotion between… But more then anything it has Grace like nothing I have ever seen….

The Grace the covers the mistakes and the sin…. The short comings and failings and other such things…..While it may be a book that is only ½ written, I hope that to those who need to read it, it wont be forbidden. They may be surprised that my heart is as big, and that my judgments are smaller then originally thought and yes, that I bleed.

The second half of the book will be slightly differ, as I won’t be chasing after readers who refuse to discover. I will be grateful for the ones that taken the time- to pick it up on their own… for it is to those people that my “true self has shown”. It is in their care that the pages of me……………………are lovingly accepted. It is them that look at the book and see my heart…. And for every book what a beautiful start. While the read may be complicated and maybe as hard as can be… in the end, it is quiet simply, and without apology; “The book of me”.

Wilma - keep everyone tame? I am giving you the gift of letting go! We will dance in praise and it won't be wild, but it will be fun and wonderful. :) The girls from out west may teach us a thing or two, and vice versa.....only good can come of that!!!

And Rene - love your written words. I am a lover of words myself. And I really enjoyed reading your thoughts.
