A very nice lady, Shirley Turner, here in Northern Kentucky has a wonderful little antique shop as a hobby, and sometimes I catch her open, othertimes, I don't....TODAY I DID!!!

After visiting, which we always do--she's very dear--I scoured around and found some of the coolest things ever!! I got an oleo mold that is a ceramic glazed pottery crock with a lid, that has a figure of a beautiful jersey cow, reclining in a green field on the top of the crock ($10.00). AND, I got a wonderful old dairy crock from a local dairy ($8.00) AND, I got a red gingham half apron with smocking ($1.00) AND, THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE, an antique handmade toy high chair for dollies (or in my case, a favorite stuffed animal). It's perfect. And it was $12.00!!

I was sooo elated driving back from lunch I almost floated in here...I will take some photos when I get home

I think Sheila's Right.. I've seen that fabric before too.. but maybe even in a turquise/blue tone.. i like it alot.. Really pretty apron..
But then I've never seen one that WASN'T!!!

& Yes.. YOU.. A Blog.. I know what your saying.. about wondering what you'll say.. or clamming up on your OWN space.. I actually experience that same thing.. other then when I go off on one of my long drawn out stories.. It seems I tend to have MORE to say here..
Maybe I feel as if I have more of an Audience here!!!
HA! there in Blog Land.. you have to HOPE some one went to see ya!
But.. it's a place to 'store' your things..

So.. Might give it a try.. I did the two.. initially the "Dark" one..
As thats the one side of me.. (Yes.. a true Gemini) But then I said to Bev that I have so Much Shabby Chic stuff & things that just wouldn't look right there.. she suggested the 2nd one.. so.. She can have the credit.. or blame.. for the "Lite" Side..

ok.. waiting to see what treasures you come up with on your next Lunch outing.. As I sit here eating Mustard Pretzle bits at MY Desk at work!

Thanks, Carol Sue! Where have you been, by the way? I've been a wonderin' about you!!!

It was a good lunch hour, and now this week I have to be good cause of that silly old car insurance bill--boo hiss. I'd much rather spend that $200 odd buckaroos at Shirleys or Miss Wilma's!

I think my deceased grandmother had a blue apron like the pink one very pretty
reminds me of my dear grandmother
She only wore the half kind with pockets unless she
wore those things similar to wall mart aprons.
course hers were prettier than wall-mart. pinkroses

If they go to Texas, at least you'll have another reason to go to Roundtop and Texas :) I know that will be difficult, but I'm crossing fingers that there is a place for her in Kentucky. Shoot, Ashland is just down the pike, and there are plent of other places for a geologist :)

Oops, I posted on the other posting about living at your place...

I'll repeat what I said :)....

I bet he did look cute in his suit, and I can't wait to see photos of the flowers and family. I love a happy wedding--shoot, I just love "love", plain and simple. They appear to be such a nice couple, Wilma, and I know things are going to be wonderful for them :)

Thanks, Miss Wilma! I bet you are pooped!!!! Hope the wedding was wonderful and that you didn't cry (too) much :) You know they're happy as clams! You just never stop, though, but I know this: you better get some energy drink or something to tackle that sewing shop :P

I'm glad you girls think so! I'm STILL excited over them, and already utilized the dairy crock for all the wonderful handmade farmgirl soaps I've been given, or purchased. It looks REALLY great in the bathroom, filled to the brim with wonderful scents :) I'll take a photo maybe of that, tonight.

I know, right, Jeannie? That high chair surely needs a little one--we'll get working on that ;)

*Kathie*...how very sweet of you to suggest I have a blog, but honest to goodness, I don't know what I'd talk about. I mean, ME? At a loss for words? I know...I know...but it's like when I used to sit down to write papers. It would take me FOREVER to even get the first sentence down...where to begin?

Keep that brown cow away from Aunt Jenny-she was just lusting after brown cows yesterday! Very nice haul!

I know, right? Men...I could see his wheels spinning like, "yeah, instead of those two oversized stainless mixing bowls, that one will not only be good for the "kitchen dogs" (Finn and Daisy, who seem to linger in the kitchen) but it looks great, too!

Jim is a hoot--ain't NOONE gonna mess with those chickens!!!!

You never know what you might find in Georgetown, though I agree about the clothes and toys...bleh.

Justin!! That is exactly something Jim would say. Only seeing the utility in it. He is doing some weird thing with fencing in the chicken coop; he is bound & determined to make it Ft Knox, & man does it look crappy! His comeback is always "WHo's gonna see it?" (umm ME) I may have to clamp down on the project this weekend.
Our town is having a bunch of sales this weekend, so I'll see what I can scrape together. I doubt that I will find anything like your goodies though. Most of our sales here have ugly clothes & cheap plastic toys.

That's a great approach, Joy!!! Want to diet? Go antique shopping (or whatever you're shopping vice is :)) We have a couple of those little stores near me for lunch hour spending--there is another sort of salvage furniture shop that I really want to delve into, but the proprietor is WEIRD...she just sortof stares at you and doesn't speak, and it's a little "close" in there not to communicate :)

I love that crock--it's a nice sized one, too. My husband says, "can we use that as a dog water bowl?" Um. NO. :)

Jonni, You done great girlfriend! I have been visiting a Antique/Junk store on my lunch hour also. I call it my Calvin Kinnett diet, because when I stop by there, I spend to much time and dont have time to eat. ha. I would rather spend my time and money there (Antique/junk store) instead of running through drive through spending 5-6 bucks for food that is very unhealthy. I LOVE the apron and the white dairy crock!
