oh this is fun .. all our stay and dream and day and VA-cations!

if you could go somewhere for ONE DAY .. and it has to be close enough to your home that you can get there and return home in ONE DAY ... (you CANNOT 'stay' at home though .. go see something interesting .. take a class .. learn something .. visit with someone .. anything other than at HOME .. where would you go? and with whom? tell us all about it! xo

I'm hoping to do just that for our anniversary next month. But that all depends on whether or not dh is able after he gets his shoulder fixed. If not, there's always next year.

Turner Falls, http://www.turnerfallspark.com/ is about a 40 minute drive from our place and back when I was in highschool, if my friends and I cut class(es) in late spring, we headed to Turner Falls. It is still one of my favorite places, but over the years it has become more crowded.

Chickasaw National Park, http://www.nps.gov/chic/ is between us and the falls and it is a nice place too. Arbuckle Lake is a nice lake to camp at and if your real adventuresome, you can dive off the cliffs. The lake is clear (never muddy) as it is fed from mineral springs - the whole area is.

If I was going to learn something, there is a lady on the highway about 7 miles from us who does stained glass. Would love to learn the art from her.

To hike up to one of the alpine lakes around here, have a picnic with dh and fish the lake.

I have always wanted to learn "glass blowing" and on my way to visit my son in Western WA this weekend I went into a studio.. I would love to be able to spend the day, just learning all about it..
