I was reading the thread about stay-cations (easy to jump on that with gas prices being what they are!) and was thinking back to some of the stuff we have done over the years ~ and some of the things we haven't done, but would have liked to do.

It is hard to get away if you have animals to tend to. Impossible, unless you have someone you can really count on. But we can all dream! Right?

So read through the questions below and think about what you would really enjoy doing. Since this is "cyber-dream-cation talk" money, time, health, and distance are not objects of concern! Just go for it!

Where is you favorite place to visit?

If you could go anywhere and take all your family, where would go?

If you could go anywhere and take you dh, where would it be?

If you could take you best friend, where would you go?

If you got to go by yourself (ditto!)?

If you could meet anyone person, living or not so living, who would it be?

Why?

Name three events in history you would have like to have witnessed.

What period in history would you most like to have lived in?

I LOVE to travel...so here are my answers:

Where is you favorite place to visit?
Besides family, Nashville is by far my favorite place to visit. I'm a country music history nut, so thus I'm always wanting to go! We just went last month to Fan Fair.

If you could go anywhere and take all your family, where would go?
"All of the family" hasn't been on a trip together (always one person missing) but we enjoyed going to the zoo. I would say North Carolina or even Texas would be something we would all go to.

If you could go anywhere and take your dh, where would it be?
Nashville...yep I'm sounding like a broken record. haha. Our honeymoon was there. I couldn't go to the ocean or anywhere else. Maybe Branson sometime.

If you could take you best friend, where would you go?
Besides Nashville (haha), I would love to travel to Texas again.

If you got to go by yourself (ditto!)?
Guess where? haha. Actually anywhere that I could just sit and relax and get some photo ops in.

If you could meet anyone person, living or not so living, who would it be? Why?
I would have to say Alison Krauss. I have always been a huge fan of hers and is one of the only people I have yet met.

Name three events in history you would have like to have witnessed.
1 - A concert with Johnny Cash or Hank Williams back in his prime.
2 - The day my parents got married.
3 - Being part of the original group that discovered Kentucky.

What period in history would you most like to have lived in?
I would love to have lived in the 50s-60s (yep, I'm a youngin). I would like to have lived at the turn of the century before the Great Depression. I've always been interested in that time period.

I have answered this twice and lost the post! :( Trying again!

Where is you favorite place to visit?

We like eastern Oklahoma and the Smokey Mountains - mountains, streams.

If you could go anywhere and take all your family, where would go?

One of those Alaskan cruises. They look awesome!

If you could go anywhere and take you dh, where would it be?

A quiet mountain cabin, hot tub on the deck and a stream full of fish running along side the cabin.

If you could take you best friend, where would you go?

My sister is my best friend and it would be Israel, hands down. We've been talking about it for years.

If you got to go by yourself (ditto!)?

Send the family to visit friends, I'm staying home. The house is clean, the yard and garden look lovely (we are dreaming, right?). I have a new book that is going to be so interesting and the paper with the list of Saturday's garage sales! Heaven!

If you could meet anyone person, living or not so living, who would it be? and why~

This is harder but on the list: Will Rogers, Mark Twain (their humor and their writings), Stephen from the book of Acts (his compassion), Mary & Martha (couldn't you have fun with them!), and Chief Joseph - I think he was brillant beyond his time.

Name three events in history you would have like to have witnessed.

I would have liked to be in Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, on the edge of the universe when the world was spoken into existence, and nearly any event in coloinal America. (well from coloinal thru the Civil War. (Rene, loved your answers - Rosa Parks, Wrigth brothers!)

What period in history would you most like to have lived in?

Probably anytime between mid 1700's to late 1800's. although this is pretty exciting now.

Have to say, the price is right on dream-cations! Jump in and take one.

Where is you favorite place to visit? - my most incredible vacation so far has been the month we spent on safari in AFRICA ...

If you could go anywhere and take all your family, where would go? ... when the grandkids are 'older' .. i would love for them to experience an African Safari too!

If you could go anywhere and take you dh, where would it be? ... gosh .. we've been to so many wonderful places together ... still on the list is ISRAEL.

If you could take you best friend, where would you go? ... it would be fun to go to one of the Norwegian Countries and go to a SPA for a couple weeks with a good gurlfren!

If you got to go by yourself (ditto!)? i would enjoy that SPA .. or trekking somewhere on a mountaintop on a 'spiritulal trip'. I believe it would be Buddhist!

If you could meet anyone person, living or not so living, who would it be? Would be interesting to meet Jesus and hear DIRECTLY from him rather than others writing 'about' him.

Why? Because, i believe that many 'religious' beliefs have been mis-interpreted over the many years since Jesus lived on earth. (this is not just true for christianity but for other religions too .. but Jesus is the one i'd reeeeeeeely love to see and talk to IN PERSON.

Name three events in history you would have like to have witnessed. the LIFE of JESUS, BUDDAH and MOSES (any events during their lifetimes would be incredible to witness and learn from).

What period in history would you most like to have lived in? I'm sure loving my LIFETIME .. but it would be incredible to see a thousand years in the future (might be alone and desolate though!)

I am a Lake girl... I grew up on a lake, maybe that is why... But any lake is traquil to me.. So I would take family, hubby, best friends to a lake or go by myself.. and if there is a fruitstand/antique store close all the better....

Who would I love to meet????? People in general facinate me... I see brilliance in us all - I guess I am easily entertained.. So I dont really know if there is any one person I would like to meet. I am drawn to intellects more then celebraties, and people that are positive more then those that see life as a chore....I enjoy people who take risks and live just outside of the box and encourage others to be true to themselves.....

I would like to have been on the bus when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat......and on the beach when Christ turned a few loaves and fishes into enough to fed the multitudes.. and on the hillside when the wright brothers 1st flew................to name a few of the history things..........

I think I would have liked to be a pioneer woman - even today I can see myself living off the grid....although Today we have the choices to live the life we choose. So maybe I would just choose to be here in this moment.

Thanks for the dream-cation! It was nice!
