Today I get my stitches  out!!! And I have a 2nd interview with a company today as well. Talk about one extreme to the next. haha. I personally dread the process of taking out the stitches, but will be glad when they are gone. I'm not for sure how many, but they cover several inches of my arm.
What is some good news in your neck of the woods?

We are getting ready to head out to see the fireworks & have a bbq. It feels great to get out of the house and see some friends and family. :)
I got a call late yesterday afternoon from the place I interviewed with...it will be Monday before they let me know but I'm definitely one of the top 2 candidates. All they are waiting on is references...so cross your fingers that things go well. I have to have a criminal background check and drug check, but I know I'll pass them with flying colors.
I'm still having muscle spasms right in the joint of my elbow. I had to make hubby run to the fridge and get an ice pack. My arm was on fire on the upper part of my forearm, not near the stitches. We have no clue what is going on. It comes and goes with the pain. I just hope that it isn't scar tissue. I'm moving it as much as possible.
Carol Sue...yeppers, I'm definitely glad to have the dissolving kind. When I had knee surgery about 7 years ago, they had to take out the stitches and wowzer that hurt! And the worst part was when they had to take a syringe and drain the fluid off my knee before surgery. I literally about passed out. I hate needles after that. I never use to be this way but now I'm a chicken.
Well...off to see some fireworks!!

Jess, hmmmm my toes, my fingers, my legs, my eyes, that is about all I can cross right now.....lol I am glad for your sake they are the dissolving kind. What a relief for you I am sure. Ok, no traveling, so you will just have to type like crazy and we will look forward to seeing you more.

Jessica did the president tell you when you would hear something about the job? I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. Do what the doc instructs you to do so you will be ready for that new job. ;-)

Judith - yeah I have seen staples and thankfully I've never had to get them.
Nancy - I had surgery a week ago on my left elbow. They moved my nerve over, took out part of the bone, and got rid of some scar tissue. I lost feeling in my hand with my pinkie and ring fingers and palm for several months so they decided surgery was the best thing to do. It's been a while since I've been treasure hunting. I may just have to go out sometime when I get the chance. Hope all is well with you.

Removing stitches is easier than getting them put in :-) Staples are a different matter.... You can prevent scarring by putting vitamin E oil on it every day. Aloe also helps.

Well things turned out better than I thought they would. The second interview...the company president said that he was extremely impressed with my awards, especially the Southeast US Employee of the Year award. He was actually laid back and was pleasant to talk to. They had it narrowed down to a few folks and then he went "well I know that we have it down to 2 and you are definitely one of those top 2." They are going to be making a decision and will let me know one way or the other. Keep your fingers, eyes, and toes crossed...ok, so you will walk around silly doing that, but you know what I mean. haha.
Then it was off to the doctor's office and apparently everyone and their granny had an appt before the long weekend. I actually didn't have to wait long. So here I was dreading the whole stitches taking out. They take off the wraps and then the tape running across them. He went "wow they look good." I'm getting squimish. He gets to talking and I go "so when are you taking them out?" He went "Oh...those are dissolving kind." Halllllllelujuah! No poking around it, but eww, it is just gross. I have to keep it covered.
However, my hand is more swelled up than what it should be. So he had the PT doctor come in and work on some exercises with me. I won't have to go to physical therapy thank goodness (long stories why I hate PT places). Both said that typing will be a great thing for me, so you guys will probably see more of me on here to "whip my hand and elbow" back in shape. ha. I do have to be careful and I asked him about traveling. He said that I need to wait on long distances and my elbow sitting in one spot, so everyone can come to me. haha.
I do have to keep it covered to keep dirt and junk out of the place as the scar heals, which is fine by me because I don't want to have to look at it. It's just grosssss. I can handle seeing a new calf born, but a cut on me, lord child I can't handle it and I get sick to my stomach.
Ok....so now we just hope that the phone rings, and soon, with a job offer. :o)

The best news for us recently was that our washer and dryer came yesterday so last night Hubby helped me do laundry! This is a first! I guess he actually heard me the last time we had an argument! He said "You know I hate doing laundry" and I said "Well no one ever asked me if I liked doing it! I don't like doing it when it piles up either" So yesterday he put down his games and came and helped me fold and put away! What a sweetheart!
