WELL ... lucas and i started out towards kentucky at 10 a.m... didn't make it to cincinnati until almost 5 p.m. oh my gosh! the STORMS!!!! at times the sky was so grey and the rain so hard and blowing .. that i couldn't even see the car in front of me. we pulled off I-75 at least a half dozen times ... finally ... just before we hit Cinci .. the lightening was so bad .. that i decided to stop at the Sheraton that has the wonderful water park (coco key) .. lucas is such a little water bug! tonight ... he played in the 'game room' .. then .. he went to IKEA with me .. we had dinner there and shopped ... now, we're back in the room and he's watching 'spongebob squarepants' on tv .. while i'm surfing the net!

TOMORROW morning .. i'll let him swim for a few hours .. then we WILL head home .. i don't care if we run into a tornado .. i WILL be in Kentucky (or KANSAS) before nightfall. i miss hank so much and can hardly wait to see him. i looked back over my calendar ..and i left for Toledo late May .. came back home for ONE DAY .. and headed back the next day ... and have been there until this morning. i have had a wonderful time and have watched that precious little ISZABEL fatten up from her little six pounds birth weight... she surley should have .. wednesday feeds her almost constantly (every 2 to 3 hours!)

sofia is becoming such a little toddler .. she always had me in stitches. she has quite her own little mind .. a real free spirit (or then again .. it might just be those "TWO's" that kids go through sometimes. HA! wednesday smiled and said she 'fears sofia takes after me .. a little wild child!'

well, i best check my other boards .. and lucas wants me to research dinosaurs for him on the net .. soooo .. next time i talk at ya'll .. i'll be 'home sweet home' again!

xo

great hearing from all you kids. we are now 'home sweet home' .. we immediately turned around and went to see a most wonderful fireworks display at a friend's neighbors house .. every year .. i do believe them man must spend at least ten thousand dollars on fireworks .. hundreds of people come from miles around. his neighbor allows us all to park in one of his 'fields' .. it is HUGE! lucas so enjoyed being with his friends, Hunter and Langdon (both about his age) ... THEY are going to spend the night one night this week .. we'll go to Kentucky Down Under and have a 'cookout' here at the farm.

Lucas is SIX ALMOST SEVEN (i swear, i could almost write a book about that delightful year in a child's life.. hmmmmm .. i do believe that has already been done: NOW WE ARE SIX ... by A.A. Milne (author of Winnie the Pooh)!

i took lots of photos .. will post some soon!

His little Sister Sofia Catherine is 21 and a half months old .. and new baby sister Iszabel Emma is THREE WEEKS and ONE DAY!

My grandchildren from older daughter Kristen are: James .. who is 14 and Jennifer who is 21 ... AND, for those of you that don't already know .. i became a GREAT=GRAMMIE .. the same week Granddaughter Sofia was born .. with the birth of Great Grandson ANDREW.

well, i best go start unpacking and putting treasures away before lucas wakes up .. ohhhh .. i have a TON of 'weeds' to pull too .. honey hunk didn't want to touch anything for fear he'd pull up flowers i had planted. i might have made a 'game' out of it and gotten lucas to help me .. but yesterday, soon's we got home .. we were walking around the yard .. i pulled a few weeds from a FLOWER POT .. and out slithered a small black SNAKE! (he won't be going anywhere near my gardens!!!) kinda' made me jump about ten feet offa' the ground too!

lots of my cutting gardens i planted have been overshadowed by Pumpkins and Gourds. We just let some of the 'rot on the vine' .. and they 'took root' .. i should have a bumper crop of them this autumn! BUT .. i'm not sticking my hand into that 'tangled web' with THICK gloves on!!!

have a grande day gurlfrenz.

p.s. loved hearing your stories of storms!

When my 34 yo son and I drove back to Nebraska for a family reunion, the first thing I hoped he would witness was a great midwestern storm. We were in Ft. Laramie when it hit. First the sky turned very dark, then the wind picked up. Then they closed down the Fort and everyone had to stay put. We were in the store when the full brunt of the storm hit. The hail was loud on the roofs and the lightning was fierce and the thunder even moreso. I doubt that he will ever forget that storm. I really enjoyed it myself. When we left there was lots of hail still on the ground, but the sky opened up and there was sun shining through the clouds. I hope I get to go on another trip with him. He is so enthusiastic.

Glad you spent time with Lucas, Frannie. You will remember this time forever.

Frannie...that means I have never talked to you while you were at home...WHO KNEW??? I was able to pretty much figure out how the story line goes now! I hope you got home safe and sound...the weather this Spring has been something else across the country! I am heading to Iowa/Illinois next week and hope I don't run into anything like "flash floods"! What are your grandchildren's ages? They sound adorable. My little "Sam"...my namesake will be one year old on July 5th and although I saw him this Spring he is growing fast I hear. How long will you have Lucas? You saound like you are a great grandma...as in wonderful! I better go and start packing, clean out the car, wrap all the presents etc! Have a great relaxing Sunday at home...finally!
