my middle daughter and her family will be coming to the farm for a while. they have returned to texas after living in new york while her dh was in the army and in afghanistan.
can hardly wait to see them and their two little ones.
so we are preparing today for their arrival. tonite we will have a little music from our porch band and then i hope they will have a few days here to just rest and relax and take in the farm and visit.
i dont know how long they will be here, but i already know it wont be long enough.
they will be settling just 1 1/2 hours away, so this is a new beginning for all of us and we will now be able to see them "more regular", but my brain hasnt really realized that yet!
anyway, i will miss yall here and keeping up with whats going on, but know i will return after my visit with annie and her family.

I'm so glad you got them, Frannie! Borderlands is my favorite cd, but I do like How to try...there are some lovely songs on there, too.

I never thin my zinnias--maybe that's the secret :)

thanks jonni,
the zinnas were planted by olivia in the vegetable garden and i think she did everything wrong, but they are the best zinnias i have ever had! go figure. she planted them so close together and i never had the time to go thin them, i was sure they wouldnt make it. we are all amazed. the ones i planted in my flower garden in the back of the kitchen are pale by comparison.
thanks so much for sending jus's cd. i liked them very much. well, i havent finished listening to the newest one. (2003)
will post or email ya later.

well, i'm back and we had a wonderful gatherin of the cousins.
it was a busy weekend, we got olivia and deven's dad married on friday nite, and the remainder of the weekend was a gatherin with all the cousins and lots of coming and going.

there was lots of pickin (and grinnin) of the produce and music variety, and all in all we just had a good time.

missed all you farmgirls and am anxious to catch up with what everyone has been up to.
already had a chance to check out sherri's (mikesgirl) post about her newest project, too cute! be sure and check it out!

Frannie, have a wonderful time with your family. I'm so thankful her husband came back from Afghanistan safe and sound. And a new place to live, close to you will be wonderful. Gosh, I bet you can't even wrap your mind around that yet!!! An hour and a 1/2? So close....

I will miss you dearly, but at least I know that you're having a wonderful time. Thanks for not making me worry this time

oops, see how hard it is to leave you guys!
i am so looking forward to having the kids here and their kids, too. annie is my middle daughter and a sweetheart, as they all are to their mom. her husband has ptsd and they are going through the transition of leaving the military and moving home, so i am hoping that they will be able to have a good visit her that will help with that.
today i just want to pull the house together a little, put fresh sheets on their beds, finish up some little stuffies for their boys, and just make a nice homecoming for them.
of course in this tiny cottage, we have to put away our crafting when company comes and so the biggest chore of the day will be to gather up all the bunnies and convince them that they need to stay put while annie and the family are here.
love to all.
