Hah, made ya look!!! Yes I am going to jail!! After being a nurse in Long Term Care since 1973 (and loving it) I have finally had enough, the regulations and rules from state agencies have gotten so bad there is very little patient care involved just lots of tree killing paperwork. I am branching out, getting out of my comfort zone so to speak, took a new job at the jail!!! Spent 4 hours there yesterday orienting, touring etc. I hope I will like it, wish me luck girls, as soon as my background check is complete I will be "Going to Jail!!!"

Too bad you don't live around here, Arlene. I could visit you at work!! When I go to work with my husband (which is oficially called a "ride along" which anyone over the age of 16 can do with a Police officer)we usually visit the jail at least once. It can be quite entertaining in a sort of sad way. I get way too emotionally involved, I am the eternal Mother & optimist, my husband is the cynic, I feel bad for everyone and worse for their Mothers, and my husband just laughs at me!

Arlene, just remember to white light yourself every day and you'll be fine. You'll be a real positive force just being there. Too bad you couldn't have been at Martha's home-away-from-home during her stay. You could have picked up some Farmgirl tips!
Patricia

Happy Wishes!

Congratulations Arlene! I think you will find the work stimulating and challenging. I have a dear friend who works at the Jail in Cheney Washington doing the dietician job. She took it 3 years ago after much the same complaints about her previous work that you have. She has not looked back and loves what she is doing.

It actually has both min and max security. 500 inmates, 200 to give meds to, I guess the hardest thing is figuring who is "faking" and who is actually sick

Thanks for the good wishes

You caught my attention! Here I was expecting a note from the "Group W Bench"...Good luck in your new position. Hope it is a minimum security jail.
Sharon
PS For those too young to know...the Group W Bench reference is from the Arlo Guthrie song "Alice's Restaurant" :)
