Hey Frannie, Today in your hometown of Greensburg the weather was picture perfect. Temperature was in the low to mid 80's. Today was Kid's Day at the county fair. My hubby and I worked at the Green Co. Cattlemen's booth. He worked in the food department. I tallied the scores for the calf judging contest. There were lots of kids there for all the events. We had a great day.

what fun reading about everyone's day! so happy so many of you hopped in to share your day with us. would love to see more of this .. it's a fun way of 'journaling' our days. at an amish museum in lancaster, i once read a delightful diary of an amish woman filled with her daily 'chores' and the delight she found in them.

today .. lucas and i had such a fun and educational trip to Sauder Village. we saw spinning and weaving, broom-making and leather and wood working ..tinsmithing .. basketmaking .. broom-making, candle making .. and so much more. they had two olde-timey schoolhouses .. one more 'primitive' and one at the turn of the century. we took a horse buggy ride and a train ride around the village .. ate ice cream and pop corn .. shopped in the 'settler's store'. i just adore that at six years old, lucas delights in being with me! we played 'truth or dare' on the ride to and from the village. that was fun to play with a six year old! dares usually involved 'boogers' and 'truth' was usually about grammie's life in the 'olden days'!!

what a delight lucas is! i am so thankful that i am 'here' and 'healthy' to enjoy these precious children! xo

Hey, today I'm harvesting salad fixings and picking Sugar Snaps! My big new kitchen garden is starting to produce serious FOOD, and with grocery prices almost as scary as gasoline, this is a very good thing. I've always gardened, but never in such a conscious, committed way -- complete with an 8-foot fence to keep out the deer and other critters. We're having scrumptious weather here in Virginia, making the heaviest work connected with this garden an absolute joy.

Meg, would you be willing to post some wedding photos?

It was a beautiful day in Chillicothe, but we stayed in. Had laundry to do and a kitchen to clean.

Monday I went to the hand surgeon - I'm having Carpel Tunnel Syndrome surgery on July 8 and July 22. Tuesday I took my dh to the doctor - he has Edema (water) in his legs real bad and was having trouble breathing. They did a chest x-ray and are scheduling an ultra sound of his heart. The doctor doubled up his water pill, but said his lungs sounded good, so they did not keep him. He goes back to his doctor on July 2.

Early this morning I packed up 6 items I sold on ebay and the postman picked them up. Tomorrow I hope to get the grass mowed and Friday I am going over my sister's to help her with her shower, she is paralized in her legs and we all help her out. Saturday we are going to my nephew's daughter's graduation party. Somewhere in between all this I have 4 buckwheat hull pillows to make and ship out.

So glad ya asked Frannie.....Cause this is the first day in a very long time I feel as if I have actually been able to do some stuff in my studio/sew room during the daylight hours!! I am making a toothfairy doll (she has a pocket that will hold the tooth and cloth wings)for my Great Neice. It is to go in a little cradle that my Honey made for her mommy (my neice) when she was little. He refurbished the cradle because, over the years of being used, a piece of the wood from the rocker portion fell off. When we last visited them in California, we brought the cradle back. I am going to repaint the cute little cradle today. I am also busy making her a new little cloth mattress and a pillow and blanket for the cradle and already finished a little patchwork quilt for her doll carriage!! I love days like this!!! They are few and far between!!!

We don't have Ikea here.....When my son was living in Manhattan, NY a few years back he used to go to Ikea for things for his apartment......I remember one trip, when we were visiting him in the City, we all went to find some things to help furnish his place.....They didn't have one in NY but I believe we drove to New Jersey. Ikea is a fun place to wonder around!

Ok...Back to trying to finish things up to mail off hopefully tomorrow to my Great Neice.........It is her 2nd Birthday!!

Until Later,
Audrey

Well, so far I have made banana struesel muffins, done two loads of laundry, done general housecleaning, read to my oldest little boy, finished a knitted wool diaper cover, and hung out online...need to do some more laundry and mow the lawn when it cools off a little. I might try to get some spinning in.

I am getting ready for our first "official" chapter meeting tonight! We have been a chapter for ages, but in spirit only really, and in enjoyment of the books and products.....we are now up to five members, and we are going to make rag rugs this evening! I have five sheets, five hooks, and I have cut a few strips to get everyone started. Picked out the apron I will wear, and now I have to go get film, because I want to share some photos with you all!

hah! i can tell, sandra you are an optomist. i wish i could say that i worked circles around folks, then i would really get this place in shape.
i prefer to rationalize that, i have too many projects going on at once, my health has gone south so i think i need a nap, and i was gonna get that done, but a (friend, family, stranger) needed some help, at any rate, i am 57 years old, been keeping house for 36 years, and i have never had the feeling that it was done. i just give out before it gets done! hehehe

Oh Meg...you're the one that had that beautiful wedding....I sure enjoyed those pics! What a way to start out...with your own farm! Good luck again! You get to be my age and you can't stay up until 1:00 a.m. mo matter how much fun you're having! LOL!
And Fran, I can certainly relate to the health going South...I used to have SO much energy and now it seems I just poke along and don't get nearly as much accomplished in a day as I used to and my standards have definitely slipped maybe that's why God takes some of the eyesight away too? So you don't have to sit and look at it! LOL! But my daughter tells me I could still work circles around most people and I bet that's the same for you....let's face it...farmgirls are hard workers! Speaking of...I better get back to it!

Well, the new hubby and I are finally getting back into the swing of things after the wedding and entertaining guests that came from away. My dad finally left yesterday and he was the last one, so now we can hopefully! get some work done. I'm writing envelopes, printing and filling orders, weeding the veg garden, and going to attempt to clean up this house of mine.

We got a late start this morning though because last night we went to the double feature at the drive-in. Kung-fu panda and Indy- didn't get home til after 1am. But it sure was fun!

today is overcast and on the cool side for this time of year here in n. texas.
woke up about 4:30 and did my chair exercises and then started the day. cleaned the computer room and then outside to clean up two side yards, did a little weeding, checked on my seedlings, not ready to put in the ground yet.
no car here today, olivia and deven's dad had to borrow mine this week, so i am home crafting bunnies along with just the sop; laundry, straighten up the house, get ready for tomorrow when i will be preparing to see my little grandsons and their parents from upper new york state. their dad is finally out of the army and they have returned to texas, soooo tomorrow i will be cooking and cleaning and making the farm ready for their visit.
kind of a normal day here at the farm, pick a few vegetables, let the goats out for their run around the farm, and if i can take my nap!
it sounds like a lot when i look at the post, but really it isnt so much, since my health has gone south on me, my standards are kinda low and i dont look real closely when i'm cleanin, just kinda squint my eyes and hopefor the best.hehehe

Today, I am canning some "pickers" (pickles) and peppers, then I am freezing some squash....then I am going to swim in my pool. Sounds a bit lazy!!!...I like that...

Frannie, out here in the west it's a glorious day and I'm going to hang out some clothes to dry and help my husband and son pickup hay out of the field again tonight after work. Oh, and vacuum...there's a trail of hay particles all through the house.
Happy trails.

We LOVE Ikea - we don't have one nearby so if we go to a big city we make that one of our stops. We bought a beautiful cover for our down quilt, some cute multi-colored bowls and cups (I think from the kids' section) and more when we were in Salt Lake City last summer. But my favorite is the cafeteria. I wish I had a shrimp sandwich right now!

It is beautiful in AR today too....only 58 this morning and 72 now and humidity is down so I can have the windows open all day long...YIPPEE! Unfortunately I have paperwork and bills to do today but I was already out watering this morning and I will escape outside at various times today to enjoy. If I get my paperwork done I want to start working on my Sisterhood badge that I received last week and figure out which Merit badge I want to work on first....they all sound so interesting! It will be hard to pick just one....and then I have a baby afghan to finish...one of my boys is having his first one and it is a boy they are naming Uriah due in July and I have to get ready for a trip north to Iowa to celebrate my daughter's son's first birthday on July 5th, their anniversary is the 13th, Uriah's due the 14th and my daughter's birthday is the 21st! July will be busy for sure....so why am I sitting here? I better get going! LOL! HAve a great day everyone!

Praisin God for the much needed blessing yesterday. I truly believe the Lord blesses everyday. Yesterday it definatley did not go un-noticed. See things have been getting really, really tight around here, with the economy, gas prices and everything like they are. I'm a single mom, trying to run a cleaning service. Business is really starting to dwindle. My ex hardly ever pays child support. But every once in a blue moon I'll get a call that a payment was made to the kids' account. I got a call yesterday. I thought it would be the 40 or so that he usually pays. But it was much, much more. I feel such a huge relief from not worrying about how the bills will get paid. If you gals get a minute, will you please say a lil thank you prayer for my family's blessings? I have over and over and over but feel like I can never thank Him enough.

And I'm thinkin how excited Jeremy will be later when he finds out his new/used cowboy hat came in the mail this morning. That boy and his hats, I don't get it. I think he's up to 18 of them now, maybe more. I lost count. Oh well, everyone has there thing. I'm into music boxes and christmas ornaments.

And passin time, cleanin house till time to go clean a client's home this afternoon.

I am hopeing to finish getting the sheets ripped for rugs. I want them together, so I can crochet them at the pool tomorrow. I have seven kids today so it will be iffy. My biggest question of the day is, what's for lunch?
