I took a few photos today after work and wanted to share...went to pick Jus up at his job, a wonderful bistro named Otto's, in the Mainstrasse district of Covington, Kentucky. They use all fresh, local/regional and seasonal ingredients and the food is fab. Justin is putting up a Lionel train display on top of the old cooler--very, well, COOL! When you come to town, first, visit me and then we'll go to Otto's! The first is of the building, the second of their cute-cute sign. Jus really loves working there!
This is my OH SO WONDERFUL vintage purse that I got for 50 cents at the thrift store yesterday. I snatched it up in a second--ok, less. I can't wait to carry it...the tag inside reads "Margaret Smith, Gardiner Maine"...and it's a lovely chintz fabric.
These are just a couple of fun pics from the garden. If you look closely, the tomatoes have the slightest hint of orange to them...soon...soon!!! Tomato and mayo sammiches, I'm counting down the days!
And, my first calla lily of the season. Love these to death.

I'm in love with this purse!!! I can't wait to use it...we're coming back to Louisville around our anniversary in August, so I'm currently shopping for a dress to go with it :)
The old cooler is almost like a room, really, maybe about 6 foot tall, where they keep the beer, sodas and wine that needs to be chilled, and it's about 4-5 feet across. Jus is building and painting shops, and storefronts, and making a Cincy skyline. I know you'd love it, Janice!!! I'll have Justin take some photos of his progress so you can see, too.

Really cool purse! And I'd sure love to see the Lionel train! I'm experiencing major 'tomato envy' right now. There are NO tomatoes in restaurants here now!

What a pretty bag, and what a great deal! Your tomatoes and your lily are looking quite lovely as well...I've got blossoms on my tomato plants, it's going to be a long wait for tomato sandwiches in this neck of the woods....my favorite is open face peanut butter and tomatoes right out of the garden...my tiny mother used to make them for me and my brother when we were little....

Come on up, Shirley Jean. Nothing could be better than a lunch or dinner at Otto's with such a dear farmgirl friend! I will remember them, Jeannie....times are sunny, for sure.

Sam, I wish we would get a little rain, here. It's lovely temp wise, but no rain in sight. You have to just come on up, Sam and visit the Bluegrass state! Ottos is such a treat!!!

Jonni has made Sam jealous by her super cool bistro and purse pictures  That's a great deal!!!!...my tomatoes look the same, save for all of the string around them that I just got through tying them up with...Texas had some hella bad storms come through today and my matoes layed down and went nite nite. Beautiful flowers too!!!

Thanks, Lisa...I wish I could ship you some tomatoes!!! My plants are heavy with them. The two I took photos of are just the first two turning, the rest are still green, but plentiful. I did start early (mid April, in the raised bed)...think I'll do that from now on. We have tomatoes here but there hot house, even though local. Only the fast food joints have stopped carrying them.
I love those Callas...in our wedding, all the mom's carried a bouquet mixed with one similar to that, and a lovely fushia. They've always been my favorite flower, I think.
Nancy, you are schoolin' me in the art of thrift!!!! I'm really happy with my bag, and can't wait to find the perfect little black dress to wear with it. Our anniversary is coming up and I think it will be the perfect accessory!

Very pretty bag and I'm so jealous of your tomatoes...mine don't even have blooms yet. I'm craving them so much. No body will even carry tomatoes around here because of the e coli thing. I have sooooo long to go before I get any.
Your calla is just lovely. I really like the pink blush around the edge.

Nancy Jo, I googled it, and look...one very similar to mine is on this site...she says they went anywhere from $36-$63 on ebay. Cool. And I just dug it...didn't even look inside it until I got home!

Do you see boxes with red "x"'s? That happens to me sometime...could be a "cookie" thing. I see them :(...sorry. They're really pretty, though :)
