I'm moving to Layton, Utah on Saturday! Steph and I are so excited. I have two job interviews lined up for the following week and one of them sounds very promising. We are so blessed to be able to stay with friends in the daylight basement of their home until I can get a job and get my own place.

Right now I'm going kind of crazy with all that needs to be done. I decided to sell everything that I have except for personal stuff, keepsakes, and my soap supplies. Everyone here is kind of freaking out because they can't believe I'm getting rid of everything. But it's kind of a cleansing thing for me. I'm making a new start for myself and my daughter in a new place. I want to get rid of the old and make way for the new. Plus it's going to be such fun to go to garages sales to find new things and see how cheaply I can do it.

And one of the best parts of this move is that maybe I'll finally get to meet Aunt Jenny and Mona!!

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I got the computer set up last night and got high speed internet today. I feel like I'm back in the real world. The people that we are staying with don't have TV. I really thought that I'd go crazy even though I don't watch much TV. The only thing I miss is the news in the morning. We are getting our little basement area set up just like we like it. I have a nice little patio and just realized today that I'm living in an area where I could actually grow tomatoes!! I'm so excited. This weekend I'm going to get potting soil, a tomato plant, some herbs and some flowers for the patio.

I also found a Hobby Lobby!! It's not too far from me. I used to go to them in IL when I visited and was so bummed that they would never be in WA or OR. When I saw the sign the other night I about drove off the road. Also found a little place called Sew n Save. Haven't had time to visit either yet but at least I know where they are.

Now to find a good local supplier of lye and I'll be all set for my hobbies and crafts.

We made it! Got into Layton about 2 yesterday. The trip was great. But boy is it hot here! I'm used to 80's - today it was 95. I haven't gotten my computer set up yet so I'm using my friends. I have a job interview tomorrow at 11 and one on Thursday at noon. I did find my way to a small shopping center down the street. I haven't ventured too far as I'm afraid I'll get lost. Steph is loving it and having fun spending time with friends. She went to youth group at church tonight and they are sleeping outside on the trampoline tonight. So far so good!

The apartment is almost all packed up. All the furniture is gone and I just have to organize the things I'm taking in the car. It has been stressful to say the least - trying to coordinate getting all the different people to pick up their stuff. Because of that I decided to take an extra day before leaving so we will be on the road starting Sunday. I'm at my friend's house tonight and it has been quiet and relaxing. Tomorrow it's back to work but that should be the last of it.

Jenny - I am so excited too. I can't wait to meet you and Mona. I really want a picture of the three of us together! I got your email and will call you when I get to Layton.

The soapmaking stuff is the first thing that will go in the car! And my sewing machine! I have my priorities. If it all won't fit then something else will have to go.

Thank you all for your well wishes. I've got lots to do between not and Friday so probably won't be on much. I will post an update over the weekend.

Hugs,
Kay

Good luck, Kay! This sounds like a fresh start. And moving is a real pain, but it does force one to clean house!

Hope you're still going to make soap, once you get settled!

Meeting farmgirl friends sounds like fun! An added bonus!
