Ahhhh, just curious, but I'm wondering how much time others of you are spending on this wonderful site??? I was just confirmed yesterday.... and I sat here at the puter until 11pm last night. Now today, I have been on and off ALL DAY LONG!!!! WooooHooooo!!!! I'm talking marathon....my butt's getting numb. But yet, I can't tear myself away. Tell me I will be okay. I feel like a kid fighting sleep cause I don't want to miss anything. But it's so darn fun........and I love all of ya!
...........Okay, I did sneak away and hit an Estate Sale right here in my neighborhood...but I swear, I was only gone for about 45 minutes. Did I miss anything?????
I'm wondering if there's a 12 step program I may benefit from??!!!

Kate

Whenever I feel "guilty" for spending time on MJF I think, well....I could be spending time watching a usless T.V. Show. Not that I have anything against watching T.V. once in awhile (we only have 3 channels so not much choice LoL!!!)but spending time here is much more rewarding indeed :)

All of you are soooooo nice!!! I love all the replies that have been received from this topic. I also think the bus idea is a great idea. I'll pitch in!!! It better be a hybrid......hopefully running on used veggie oil...or better yet, corn husks and sugar cane. anyhoo.....thank all of you for making me feel so, so...........normal?? I hope I continue visiting this site many, many times a day. I have come to realize ........it's not an addiction.....it's a life style!!!

Whew! I'm glad I'm not so different than the rest of you. Since I joined a few days ago, I find that I'm checking in more often than not! Feeling guilty though.

I think a lot of it is the common ideas. i never believed there was a site like this before. I love to can, garden, and other outdoor type things. My writing friends accept this as one of my idosyncrasies (sp?). It's nice to find a common bond and be able to ask those questions you never could ask because no one else quite got it. You have friends for like things. My October writing group is a blast, but bring in a non-writer and they would think we were all nuts. Course we are, but we get each other. that's the joy of this site.

maybe we could hire a big 'ol bus painted with sunflowers and daisies...that could be the mode of travel instead of a plane. How does that sound Karen?

I so agree with you ladies - there is the feeling of community without the unpleasant sense of "politics" that pervades some of the other organized things I have been involved with.
I feel fortunate to have found y'all

You know I have had the honor of meeting some of the "pretend friends" in real life. Having met them on line and then in person.. and I can say I havent been disappointed. Who I thought they were.. they are.... you know Brooke my experience has been, "whatcha see (read) is whatcha get with us farmgirls"....I understand where hubby is coming from.. guess it would be all to real if we all showed up on your front lawn (LOL).....

This made perfect sense to me. It almost made me want to cry! I know exactly how you feel!

With all of you, there is no gossiping, no hurtfulness, no back stabing, no swearing, no being stood up at the last minute and well, I could go an and on about all of the good things about you all, so to me you are not "pretend" at all....you are all the realest (not a true word I know) friends I know!!!

Okay, Kate, seeing you say this now doesn't make me feel bad. I've been doing the same here! It's one of my #1 places to be online. There's so much info and inspiration! Everyone is really nice too which is nice just the same. :D Anyways, don't worry ..I'm down here feeling the same way! lol

Yep, it made perfect sense. :) Behind every screenname there is a very real person, and regardless of whether we've all met in person or not, our spirits can meet here.

Problem? I don't have a problem... I'm perfectly happy reading all these posts. My husband might beg to differ on that though. ;)

Melanie, it sounds so wonderful where you are, I want to save up $$$$ right now for a visit!
As for being "addicted" to this site...well, I'm so new that I dont even know what all to read yet! Has my head spinning. But what I have read has been very good and seems to be a great bunch of farmgirls!!! Not sure about "MJ 12 Step Program". Isn't step 1 having to admit a problem? If there's no problem, no need to take that step, right?
mellaisbella Posted - Jun 27 2008 : 06:01:41 AM
I was thinking the other day....if only.....if only I have TONS of $$$$ I could gather up all of us farm gals and meet in a big 'ol field somewhere...near the ocean....hey..I have a big 'ol field near the ocean!! anyway, I could fly all of you here and we could have a big bonfire, stay up all night eating s'mores laughing and chattin'. Then the next few days we could trade kitchen tips, teach each other how to knit, sew....well, we could do all kinds of things.....Soooooo if anyone becomes a multimillionaire, it is your farmgirl duty to gather us all up for a weekend meet and greet OK?!!!
Can you tell that I love y'all LOL!!

Okay, so you clever farmgirls need to come up with a humorous 12-steps of MaryJane, but would get us even more into it, instead of out. Ideas? :) Thank goodness this is a positive habit!

We make a difference.

I know exactly what you mean Kate, my computer was in the shop for two weeks, just got it back today, and I feel like I've been out of the country for a year or so. Welcome!!
