This has been a really bad week;
All kinds of bad luck ; What is the saying?
"if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all?"
Well , this week I have it
Someone, stoled my Debit card no and ordered
a Dell computer, $700 somsething
$225 something clothes at Forever young .com
$ 240, I think at toys are us
200 and some to another place
and all on line and some other places adding up to almost 300
so the total was around 1,400 something
I didn't have even the $700 for all of that.
I am so frustarted and upset that this happened
I have used my debit card with no problems
I went to the bank yesterday
The lady closed the Debit card
I don't know if i will ever get $500,00 and some back
My husband is against all credit card stuff
We have been married 32 years this June
I have no credit build up in my name ; because I haven't brought on credit; if hubby died I couldn't even get a loan for a car or anything I needed
The lady said she would recommend a credit card
So, she is sending me one
I have a set limit of what I can spend
I never spend over the amount that I have in the bank; I never buy anything without making sure I had it in my account
I never write checks I never use the debit card outside the home.oh, I did buy a computer sewing machine/ with embroidery in it.
It is payed for
I have a account opened for things I can order over the internet
The account is in my name; but I wanted my husband's name on it too.
In case I die
I hope I can get the $500 back.
So, keep me in your thoughts and prayers
I am going to my family doctor this morning at 10,
I am so shaky and nervous and upset
I am in a lot of pain from all my desiases and stress with my son
Most of you know that I suffer from deep depression
I have been taking pills for that and my pain
but they have stopped working
Any hows.
that is how it is with me lately
Seems, all I do on here is Compplain.
Sorry, Just keep me in your thoughts or prayers
I have no friends in real life
I have one very good friend over the internet
and of course you all
I am glad to have found this forumn
Hugs, Miss, complaing person, Ha

Oh Sheila. You are in my prayers. This same thing happened to my sister a couple of months ago. Her bank reimbursed her for the stolen funds, but doesn't seem like the law has done anything to the woman who stole her information. She had to close out her old account and start a new one.

Try not to worry too much over this, Sheila. It's a hassle, but I'm pretty sure you will get your money back. I've known several people who were the victims of identity theft like this, and they were not held responsible for charges that they didn't make. It happens so often these days that the banking system is prepared for it. Just focus on taking care of yourself and your health issues. Hope you feel better soon.

awww...Sheila..I'll be thinking of you today..I sure hope/pray that peace washes over you on this day...About 8 years ago someone stole my hubby's identity (birthday, ss#, name). We have no idea how it happened, we didn't even have a computer then. This person tried to get credit cards all over the place, but each time we were notified by the credit card companies and banks. They did end up running up big phone bills in Hollywood, Calif. tho. We had to go thru the whole gamut of fraud things...police report, calling all the credit bureaus, adding fraud alerts to all accounts. We had to prove as best as we could that we didn't live in Hollywood or ever have a phone there...it took months to clear it up and we still have to check our credit a couple times a year. We still are looking over our shoulder all the time...but there have been no bites in a few years now. I remember the panic I felt that day (I was on the phone for 8 hours straight trying to get info and making reports). Hang in there..it will all work out...Big Hugs..we are all here to listen....Sherry :)

home with all my heart :)

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, Sheila. I experienced something similar in the autumn...but after talking with my bank making sure they know I didn't make the charges, they reimbursed me the funds. My lost wasn't anywhere near yours, but because it had a "visa" logo, there was somewhat of a guarantee against theft (at least for my bank).

I felt VERY violated, and VERY angry--this also happened at a time we didn't have two nickels to rub together...the police didn't do much (really, couldn't)...but I would think (in your situation) they'd be able to call the online companies (Dell) and see where the item was shipped to.
