My son finally begged us enough to get his trampoline set back up; so tonight after dinner we went and tried it out...jumped ourselves silly and then just layed there looking at the sky. At dark, a heavy group of fireflies came our way...so beautiful, 3 acres of blinking, flying lights! The air had that warm, summer smell--just made for a perfect evening with the family!
Hope that all of your summer evenings are the same!

I looked out my window this morning to see two tiger Swallowtail butterflies visiting my raised bed by my pond. They are such lovely creatures, nice to see them again....I'm ready to bid goodbye to the black flies, but they don't want to leave....Karin

i love summer evenings .. especially with the children. frankie got one of those small 'blow-up' pools for lucas and sofia .. he put out the 'good' lawn furniture (made for porches, i think) and we all gathered and watched them splash and play while we made 'ice-ees'. i also love evening walks and am looking forward to that while we push little iszabel in her stroller!
lightening bugs, children's laughter .. can't beat that for summer-time fun! xo

Rene' ~~ I love that about your region...they used to say that about Texas, but I believe that doesn't hold as true anymore. Here it is just warm and HOT! I still love it though.

We are still abit unsure what season we are in, here in the Northwest.... Snow one minute and heat the next.... Truly if you dont like the weather here.. wait it is bound to change :)

we took the top off our jeep and took a ride through the country tonight. We like to turn the lights off on quiet roads and just watch the fireflies and listen to the frogs and bugs. I LOVE summer!
