My mailbox held a treat today. A many layered treat. Just for being farmgirl of the month, she sent me:

a sterling silver collector's spoon with Iowa (my dream, memory filled farm state). It is so petite, and delicate.

A vintage post card from Sarasota postmarked 1949, my birth year. It said this: "Dear Hattie, I suppose you are as busy as can be in the house after a busy summer. We are both fine and hope you all are. Weather is warm and nice and Henry has been catching plenty fish." Now here is a person 50 years ago writing to folks in NY from Florida in January. Don't you know the readers were green with envy? The picture on the card is of a big palm tree. Love it.

Also, Nancy sent a lovely vintage hankie, a butterfly ornament, and a patriotic gift tag. All of this enclosed in a sunflower note card!!!! Nancy Jo - you are very perceptive, thoughtful, sweet, and I am glad I know you! Thank you!
