...for a while. Mostly due to some health problems with our youngest son. He has been undergoing tests and seeing a cardiologist. They thought he might have "Marfan's Syndrome" which is very serious and scary. Praise God they have ruled that out!

So far all news is good news with his checkups. Still some unanswered questions but doctors are thinking nothing serious at this point. We are sooooooooo relieved! Sick kiddos = the pits.

Anyway, I hope to be around a bit more. I've missed everyone.

Blessings,
Rhonda

Rhonda-

Glad to hear your son is given a clean bill of health! Heart issues are scary and I bet your cardiologist suggested that he be rigorous about going in for his yearly check up just to keep an eye on it.

I have a theory that as we are growing and our hormones are changing, our hearts get affected as well and if other things come into play- say a small time virus, or a slight anemia etc, then the side effects can seem like much worse things.

Welcome back to the forum! :D

Glad to see you again Rhonda. Glad to hear that your son is getting better. Has he noticed if symptoms got worse while doing anything like running or being highly stressed? I would keep a little journal of when he has the symptoms and what he was doing, perhaps what he ate/drink beforehand. Doctors have said that to me with just about anything and usually that helps pinpoint what is going on too.

*Hugs* Glad to see you back!

Thanks Alee..yup, sounds just like what he has been doing. He's had allllllllll the tests you can imagine, wore the monitor, etc. We switched Cardiologists because it seemed the first one just didn't "listen" to us. The new doctor is WONDERFUL and has given our son a clean bill of health for now! Such relief!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Alee! It's always helpful to hear another person's experience. Makes us THINK & ask questions we might not have thought of!

Hi Rhonda- Not sure what your son is struggling with, but just wanted to let you know that when I was young (in elementary school) I went through about 6 months where I was fainting a bit and the doctors eventually had we wear a heart monitor for several days.

In College I started having a slight arrhythmia but other than my heart having an "odd" rhythm there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with my heart and the doctor cleared me for all activities. I hope that your son's diagnosis is as benign as my own was!

Thanks so much ladies! We really appreciate the prayers too! Janice, I had to laugh at your comment..."the little guy" is 6'2"...he just turned 15(Hehehehe). His crazy height & slender build are what started all of the "Marfan's" talk!

Blessings to all!
