The commencement ceremony was great and I did great holding it all together. I only teared up a couple times but I didn't need a bath towel! And the one time was Felicia's fault anyway. As she was ending the song she was singing, her voice cracked and she teared up. I was holding well until she did that. The song she had picked was "Don't Forget to Remember Me". I don't remember the woman's name that sings it, but I love that song and it's hard to not cry when you hear it.

The Idaho Statesman did a really nice article on our little school. Here's the link:

The party is tomorrow afternoon. I'll have the pics up before the weekend is over. But right now I'm enjoying my new grandson!!!

I think our school is rather extraordinary and not only does the staff and teachers do an excellent job in teaching, they go above and beyond in their support of each and every student and fostering that sense of family among the students. All of these kids have supported each other in every activity, even when on opposite sides; encouraged each other in every task, no matter how hard it was; helped each other whenever anyone was down, without judging them. I am so proud of all of these kids. They've all done so well and I'm sure they will all continue to do well.

I not only praise our teachers and staff, but our school board as well. Thanks for the wonderful job you and the other board members have done for us, Rose.

I just got Felicia's graduation pictures and a video of her song on my blog Come on over and share in our joy!

Yes Graduation was sweet. With that small of a class we had three students sing different songs, a local male quartet sing twice and the most fun of all is the slide show where all the students (or their parents) submit photos of the kids growing up from baby on. It is so much fun to see these kids and try to guess who they are.

I got to hand out diplomas and chose several "special" friends of my son, and his diploma as well, and of course Felicas as well. There were over $200,000 in scholarships handed out because our kids are not just a number but are all individuals and our teachers are all top notch as well as our administrators. We have a fine school and do not really have all the problems some of the large schools have.

One of the most interesting facts is that 18 of the graduating students have been going to our school since kindergarten, 13 years. Pretty good comment about longevity in our community.

Family came in from everywhere including South Dakota and Minnesota to see their families graduate. I am so proud of our town, we are all family.

We are never alone in the forest of Sisters! We "Mountain Farmgirls" are outstanding in our field!
