I remember having Holly Hobbie bedsheets. I didn't really think much of them when I was a kid but now that I have a daughter I'd give anything to have a set. Her room would be adorable done in it. I miss those types of things. I spent so long waiting to be all grown up and now I'd give anything for some good old childhood comforts. <3

Rica-- Welcome to the Farm! :D

In 1959 a college friend made three dolls that looked just like that pattern; just no name on them.Do you know the Amish do not put faces on their dolls.I make my own Holly Hobbie plates...use wood glue to glue the cut out on, then cover with the glaze for glass painting.I do not use small, but large plates..but they would look good too.

Hi Lucinda! That would be AWESOME if you have an extra like her!
I'm pretty sure it was Holly.
She was all fabric, with a flat, painted face. Her hair was brown yarn in two braids that stuck outside a blue bonnet. Her dress was the brown, blue, white patchwork that's classic Holly - it was a pattern on the fabric, not actual patchwork. She had black Mary Jane type shoes, I think they were fabric too. She was oh, maybe 18" tall?
Oh I hope you have an extra!!
I'll have a kitchen soon - I can send pumpkin bread and all kinds of cookies - whatever you like!!

I had a Holly Hobbie doll as a kid, and my Aunt Shirley had handstitched a shadowbox for me that had Holly Hobby in it. I still have the shadowbox, but the doll met its demise by my childhood parakeet - who decided her skirt and right leg were fun to take apart. I didn't notice he had done it until nearly half of her leg was gone! I felt so bad. I kept her for years anyway and I'm not sure... but I think my husband made her "disappear" not long after we got married. He griped about the "rag doll" a few times.

I miss that doll! If I saw one like her I would snap it up in a heartbeat.

I have at least big 2 peices of Holly Hobby fabric. My mother-in-law made quilts, and I inherited all her fabric. Both my girls loved Holly and dressed like her, had the bedspreads, sheets, dolls, books, etc. I am glad to see her back, she is so gentle and pretty.

Greetings from the morning side of the hill.

I remember Holly Hobbie (she was big even in New Zealand!) thanks for reminding me of her.
Looks like they've brought her back: http://www.hollyhobbie.com/HollyHobbie/the_scoop.do

I love Holly Hobbie! Here's a pattern that belonged to my Grandmother who made a beautiful doll for each of my 2 younger sisters and 1 cousin but thought I was too "old" for such a doll!!! So, I went ahead and made my own version of Holly Hobbie (without having this pattern) when I was around 12 years old. It wasn't as "elegant" as Grandma's version as she used the best materials in her dolls. But I still loved mine, don't know whatever happened to that doll either
but I sure wish I still had her today!

Thanks for reminding me of this sweet doll, I too would like to see Holly Hobbie come back for other little girls to enjoy!

When did Holly Hobbie first come out? Did she wear some kind of little bonnet? I guess I am a little confused on what she looked like.

My 6th birthday was Holly Hobbie and it has always been my favorite birthday memory.

I'd love to see her come back since I have a 4 year old that would love her and she's so much nicer than many of the "dolls" (and I use that term rather loosely) that are out there right now for little girls to play with.

Babies have strokes too.....

For my 4th or 5th or 6th birthday(cannot remember), my mom baked me a cake shaped like Holly Hobbie and decorated it too.

Loved Holly Hobbie and still do...one of the reasons my youngests' name is Holly...and my Holly has always loved her too, she used to call her little doll "Hovey Dovey" as she couldn't pronounce it properly...Holly Hobbie was also my first decoupage project too Bramble, in fact my mom still has it...the first quilt I made for Holly was Holly Hobbie fabric! Thanks for bringing up good memories Ellen!

Well I guess I will give away my age with this post: I had Holly Hobbie everything in my college dorm room. I still have the bedspread 36 years later. (I was waiting for my girl now I guess I'll change it to granddaughter)
Have her dolls on my library table, use her stationery, and she is my 'puter wallpaper!
Doesn't she do childrens books now?

I always got the free little calendar of Holly Hobbie at Hallmark every year. I always liked Holly Hobbie, but the other figures from Hallmark never appealed to me - can't think of what they're called right now...oh - Precious Moments - don't know why - just never cared for those.

My very first decoupage/ shadow box project was with Holly Hobbie cards back in the early 70's . You cut out identical images and stack
them just a hair apart so they look 3-D. I think I won a ribbon at the 4-H Fair . My Mom always said I dressed like Holly Hobbie (it was the 70's... and I guess I still kind of do!) Aprons, clunky shoes and patchworky things...she's still alright with me! I've got the plate I gave to my Mom for Mother's Day 1973 that I paid for with my first official babysitting money. I also have a plate related to sewing that my Gran gave me that I just hung over my sewing desk last week. I read an interview with the woman who created her not so long ago, and she said she was surprised to see a renewed interest as she has gone on to do other things (some biblical animal characters?) if I remember correctly. (It might have been in ME Home Companion, I'm having a senior moment that lasted all weekend, sorry!)

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that recently I did purchase a Holly Hobbie porcelain dinner bell (where else? eBay..hehe), and the kids love when I ring it to call them to dinner

When I was 5 years old I had a Holly Hobbie lunchbox, the old metal kind with the thermos, and the pictures and designs were embossed (raised) on it. Once in awhile I still see them on eBay and it brings back so many memories, one of these days I'm going to have to get one again! So cute...

I loved Holly Hobbie, I still have my rag doll of her. She was with me always as a little girl. I have a smaller "Heather" doll but it was Holly Hobbie who was my favourite.

I have a collection of HH plates, around 10-12 of them. I haven't displayed them in this house as there just isn't room. The sayings on the plates are so simple yet inspiring.

I have a plate my mom got me of her friend Heather and her cat. I love this keepsake and it reminds me of when I was a kid...

I used to have a miniature deck of cards with Holly Hobbie on the front. I wonder if I still have them...?
