Hey good farmgirls! Here's a good mission to think of while you're scanning your bookcases - sending books to the Biloxi, Mississippi Library . They lost everything in the hurricane. Children's books are especially needed - as is, I suppose, everything else. Address is
Biloxi Public Library
139 Lameuse St.
Biloxi, MS
39530-4298
Thanks so much!
love Kat.

Count me in Kat! I'll have my mom go through her books too. My mom and dad watch my five neices and nephews during the day. Maybe this is a good opportunity to have them weed out a few they have outgrown and learn a great lesson in giving. Thanks for hooking us up. To think that in the huge process of rebuilding, they took the time to send a thank you is awe inspiring.

Thank you all! Amazing coincidence, Connie! Everyone please feel free to make a poster or send an email around - I figure whatever the Biloxi Library can't use can be given out to anyone who wants a book.
You guys are great!

Kat, thanks for letting us know this. I have tons of books especially kids books, classics including. I have been saving them for something but this is more important. Thank you. Michele

Hey Farm Girls!!!

Not certain how I missed this until today. As a librarian and former resident of Gulfport, which is right next door to Biloxi, I certainly want to do what I can. The Fort Worth Public Library where I work is having a big sale at our bookstore; I will see what I can find.

Today I got a heartbreaking thank you from the Harrison County Library System for the books I sent. Mr. Lipscomb says"We have lost large portions of our collections to storm damage and are currently working both to salvage what items we can and to continue providing as many services as possible to our patrons. Although we know we have a long road ahead of us, the care and concern you have shown will help us get through these hard times."
Farmgirls - check your bookshelves! If you could pass along any books that would be great. Address is in first posting above ( the Biloxi Library). Many, many thanks, Kat.

Excellent! I weeded what I could, but was too ashamed to send old books. Got a lot of science/nature packed up. Apparently the kids are bouncing back from the hurricane and have nothing to do - or read, but I already sent my kids books to an Indian reservation. Big blessings and thanks!
