I love to stand at the sink looking out at the barn and usually some of the animals out there.
What do you see from your kitchen window?

here is a pic of one of my kitchen windows, with my visiting cardinal buddy. he comes several times a day and has been for a while. he fusses if the feeder is empty and just generally lets me know he is checkin us out.

i think he is funny and now he is just a part of the farm world here.

I see a red mandevilla vine that is in my window box and the garden that runs along my drive that has a birdfeeder in it. I also see our swing. It reminds me each time I look out the window, the cushions need cleaning.

Right this very minute I am watching my Amish neighbors plant tobacco. It's quite a process and he only uses two horses for this. It's quite a site to see. Susan

I see our waterfall falling into the pond, bird feeders hanging from the snowball tree(that is bloom right now) and the deck. looking farther out the doves are flying back and forth in thier pen, at the side of them are the chickens pecking around in thier pen, eating whatever crawls into thier chicken yard. to th right of the window I see my Yurt studio and greenhouse next to that, with the barn in the background.
Theres a path going to the yurt from the back yard with a arch over it with honeysuckle just starting to bloom. I have a big garden window so ya can see alot.

Ack!!! All I see from my kitchen window is a computer desk!!! My dh moved his business to the farm last year, and while he's building the shop, he's stored all his office JUNK on my glassed in front porch! And, as sometimes men just CAN'T get it, they stuck the huge monstrosity of the computer desk right in front of my window, so now I can't see out. I used to see our front pasture, all kinds of beautiful birds and the cows as they moseyed up to the shade of the pecan trees. I've had enough, so I'm gently persuading dh to hurry up with the shop, so I can see again!!!

I love hearing what others see. We have our back yard and across the way is the neighbor's yard. However, I'm working on doing some more floral landscape in the backyard. We also have our patio out the window by our kitchen table. I need to put some bird feeders out there to attract some friendly birdies. :)

I love opening the curtain in the morning at my kitchen sink and I look out onto my "gravel" patio, and beyond that my clothes line, and lillys, butterfly bushes, bird feeders, and the playground where my 5 daycare childen come to play! I love every minute of my quiet time in front of my kitchen window!

First I see the hammock underneath an arbor covered in silver lace vine...beyond that corn fields and neighboring farms. The farm directly south of us has several big red barns and horses.

When we were building our house we came out & stood on the rise and figured out which angle would give us the best views. Because of that our house sits kattywhompus and doesn't face the road.

I will sing at the top of my lungs, and I will dance even if I'm the only one...

My kitchen window....As look out my window, I see fresh cut green grass with the wonderful lines it in that go up and down and back in forth in a playful pattern. I see a weather worn picket fence sprinkled with roses bushes sporting pale pink, fire orange, and red rosebuds. Straight ahead beyond that stars and stripe flag is the clothesline with fresh laundry swaying in the breeze. The childrens' toys dot the yard like polka dots on a 50s patterned. apron. A lone red, almost black rose stands stately to one side surrounded by crisp newly laid mulch. The childrens swing set is to my right just waiting to be played on....(Later the kiddos will be swinging to their hearts content!)
Well, so...um...that's my kitchen window...:) Sorry kinda long winded..its a big back yard that I see.:)
hugs

I see 2 acres of the greenest grass I have ever seen, with kids' toys scattered here and there...but if you look to the left, I see my in-laws....so, back to the right my eyes divert....

Dirt under my nails and weeds in my hair...don't tell me I can't dress up with flair!

I'm with you Jeannie (Hi) I like many of these views, but Dalyn's is the tops. My sink is on an inside wall :( Must have been a Man who desingned it.) I do have a good view from the dinning area. Our double window looks out to the side yard with lots of trees and birds. There is a stool at this window as my Polly (cat) loves to lay here in the sun. There are also French doors out onto the deck and screen room DH built for me. It looks out to the bird feeder and the woods. It beckons to me to come out onto the swing.

Dalyn - okay you win!!!!! I was going to say how I have been watching the cardinal nest, and the four babe birds who are trying to flee the nest. But when I saw your view - well......forget the birdies!!!!

I see my vegetable garden and I get to watch it grow and grow. Picked strawberries today, yum yum. I can also see my dog's kennel. I want to do something to sparkle it up though. I also have a washtub outside the kitchen window that I have leaf lettuce and bush cucumbers growing in. Lettuce is just about ready for picking.

I want to say that I really love the photo of the horses. I think I would not mind having my kitchen look out on that!

I love my kitchen window. Looking out it, I can compleatly forget that I am in town. First I look out at my little container garden on the porch and then over the rail to a tree lined creek bottom. I can sit there and watch birds and squirls and just generaly unwind.

I love the chickens on your windowsill, Pam, and the view is great too. I see my garden shed, my old well which has a huge stone and then a big stone covering the hole and the small field that leads up to 40 acres of hayfield. I have a quaking aspen out back that I love to watch when I do dishes, there is something so soothing about the way the leaves quiver in the breeze . I can see the old wooden water tower in the big field and my old Dolgo crabapple/ It got pounded pretty badly in the last hurricane we had. It is just such a wonderful old tree. It is even sporting a few blossoms this year

How nice to look out a window and find a visiting cow. My neighbors had cows for years and the view out the front kitchen windows was always a big soggy field full of Holsteins, but now it is just a big field and evergreens in the back, hiding the giant pond out back of the farmhouse and barn.

I loved seeing the horses too, my neighbors on one side have lots of horses and goats, but I can't see much of their field from my house, the trees on the other side of my pond have really shot up.

Whoops, didn't mean to blather on and on,,,,,Karin

I see my long-way-to-go-before-it's-finished herb garden with 1 Rosa hazelnut, 1 Contorted hazelnut and a clump of aspen at the very end of it. Beyond that I can see a few of my flower beds in the front yard, Main St and the neighbor across the street who has nothing but dirt for their front yard and park their vehicles on it:(

When I finish bordering my herb garden with forsythia, I won't have to look at the street or the neighbor's icky yard anymore.

I see our shade garden with hostas and bleeding hearts, primroses and right now violets and lily of the valley, also a beautiful plant my daughter got me for mothers day a feew years back it is white and green varigated with heart shaped leaves and tiny bright blue flowers. I see our large bird feeder and suet for the woodpeckers, usually packed with visitors, including our naughty but friendly squirrels. The bird bath is out there too. Plus all back ground trees and hedgerow that leads into our 6 acre field. Also our back deck and all the flower boxes and container gardens. I really enjoy it.
