Howdy farmgirls,

Heather and I are trying to get a gathering organized and we are thinking the proposed weekend of June 21-22 is not that great time for folks so we are wanting to take a poll...

Please let us know which month would be a better time for you...and please add which dates you could join us in that particular month:

July

August

September

Thanks and hope to hear from you...

PS:you don't have to be in Ohio to join us...the surrounding states are welcome

**The gathering we were planning was to go antique shopping in the Lancaster/Logan area (mostly)...we are discussing other possible little things to do as well in addition to.

We had Izzy's for our office lunch today--soooo funny!!! Too bad the potato pancakes don't travel as well :)

Yeah, they were just building those condos when I left. Nuts!

I make everybody in my family who goes to Cincinnati bring me back Izzy's pickles. Mmmm...

Amanda, you wouldn't recognize little Bellvue now! There are high priced condo's on the river, galleries, my favorite knitting store, countless restaurants and bistros and the TAXES! Oh my the property taxes....the majority of people moving into the condo's are from Indian Hill, Mariemont and Hyde Park. Wanting to be closer to downtown and pay less taxes, all the while jacking up poor Bellevue's taxes.

Jonni, I lived in Cincinnati during grad school and had an internship with the City of Bellevue. I ended up sticking around for an extra quarter and the summer too. It seems like their main street is finally taking off, though I haven't been there in 4 or 5 years. The police chief was my favorite person in the whole town. Pasquales!!! I had forgotten! :D

Springfield's right up 75 from n.ky - hang a right in Dayton. Oh, I wish I could come!

I have a great recipe for Pumpkin Chili if anybody's interested. Not that you'd know the pumpkin's in there. Great way to sneak more vitamins and vegetables in on people.

Pumpkin Ice Cream, Pumpkin Donuts, Pumpkin seeds....
It's one of my most favorite things to do!!!

I also love the parade with all the high school marching bands and the drum corps!!!! Such cool, loud banging and thumping!

Since I'm a Kentucky girl, though, frankly not very far from you all at all, how far are we from Springfield? I understand that there is a wonderful antique show there. Miss Wilma used to go and a number of the dealers at Burlington were based there. We'd have to see, but I guess that's about an hour and half for all of us, due West.

There's also Lebanon, but it's sortof pricey for shopping.

Looks like late summer going into early Fall - would like to meet up before school picks up again for the kiddies. However, the Pumpkin Show sounds like a great thing to do, tho it is in October (it has been awhile since I have been there)...maybe add in some shopping or something...maybe we can do a seperate "gathering" and do that or just do this. Keep the ideas and such coming! We will see what everyone would like to do exactly (and when)and we will take it from there.

Amanda, what on EARTH were you doing in Bellevue, Kentucky? I just had lunch there at Pasquales yesterday :) It's a hop skip and a jump from my office and about 15 minutes from my home via 275.

Amy, I'm from Lisbon, in Columbiana County. Considered northeast Ohio but we're more east than north. It's pretty teeny, about 2000 people. Have also lived in Kent, Cincinnati and Oxford and worked in Bellevue, KY for a little while.

I miss it!

Pumpkin Show!!!! Pumpkin Show!!! Lainey, now I KNOW we're cut from the same cloth!

Miss Wilma is having a gathering in July, girls, if you'd wanna come down!

August is still open, with the exception of the 3rd and 4th (my husband's birthday and our 8th wedding anniversary),

and September is too far ahead to think :)

I would love to head "Nawth" though, Amy....let us know what you decide. I know I'm not from Ohio, but spent a great deal of my life there in Grove City.

Ohh! If you ever do anything around the time of the Pumpkin Show in Circleville and the Festival of Leaves in Bainbridge I'd love to meet up with you all. My husband and I try to make it up there in the fall for those.

I didn't see your original post - what kind of a gathering are you proposing? A camp-out all weekend kind of thing? Or a two-hour tea party?

Labor day weekend in September would not work for me but maybe the following weekend might.
