o.k....so I created this 16 by 20 canvas last night and for the life of me..I don't know if I'll be able to part with it.
I painted the canvas in a deep yellowish tan color to symbolize the dirt/soil that a farm girl likes to get her "dirty manicure from and from her connection with the earth. The vintage doily at the top of the image symbolizes the sun..that no matter how tough her day is..the sun rises upon a brand new day full of new adventures. The bit of vintage lace symbolizes that no matter how tough she has to be through her day to day activities...that there is always a feminine side to her.
Then I filled the image with reproduction images of farm women/scenes.
Included is a darling embroidered piece of burlap given to me by Mary Jane and Meg..embroidered by our very own Miss Wilma.
So..will i be able to part with this??? I don't know.
Anyhow...wanted to share it with you all:

I took a picture of it, so when I get settled in my new home with different colors and so forth..I'll be able to recreate it as close as possible to the original..at least that's the goal...but...I am having to start clearing out around here...we are going to aim really hard to get the house on the market by January. So..I am going absolute bare bones and will start with as clean of a slate as possible.

thanks for looking at the artwork..I really enjoyed creating it, and it might look simple..but I agonized over the placement of the images for about 3 hrs before I got it right.

thank you all so much. ya know sometimes I get discouraged about things, like art and so forth..thinking..o.k. I like it, but would anyone else? And then here you all are cheering me on..letting me know that "hey..we like it too" and "keep creating".
Thank you all so much for believing in me...and encouraging me to keep creating. It means more than you know.
I feel inspired to keep going, keep moving forward.
Thanks a bunch.

I really like it, Tina--the sepia images are wonderful and all the little illustrations. Looks great all together, and the sentiment, well, you know it's perfect. I think it would look wonderful in your home!!!!

I have to finish the edges of it yet/the side edges need painted. Then I'll most likely seal this one with a sealer.
