Lots and and lots of changes have been going on here in the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago I got laid off my job. I worked as the office manager for a truck repair service and the work had dropped to nothing. With the high fuel prices the truck drivers are having to make choices between fuel and repairs - only ones that are absolutely necessary or an emergency.

I am able to draw unemployment but it's not much. Needless to say, things are pretty tight financially. But everyone is struggling so I know I'm not alone. It's just a little scary being a single mom and not having a job! But God is good and He is blessing. I've been at the Farmer's Market for 3 weeks now and had sales every week. The online orders have picked up too. So all that is a big help.

I'm applying everywhere, even out of WA state. I got contacted by a roofing contractor in Murray, Utah and had a 45 minute phone interview on Friday. I will know Mon or Tues if I got the job. Even though I'd be moving to a totally new area it would be a good job. Much more money than I was making before and the housing seems to be a little cheaper than here. I have friends that live in Layton and they said that Steph and I can stay with them until we get settled. Another wonderful blessing. Plus I'd get to finally meet Aunt Jenny and Mona!

That's why I've not been posting much here. I'm either on the computer looking for jobs or making soap! But it's good to be busy. I do stop by and read every day though.

Life is good!

Kay, good luck with the job search. I've had some rough patches that seemed to last forever, but they don't. Glad to hear the soap business is going well, that's got to make you feel better to have a skill you can take anywhere.

Oh Kay - Hang in their. I know how you feel - I'm a single mom also. My biggest fear has always been being unemployed and how that will affect DD's sense of stability.

I'm going to cross my fingers and pray that you find a good job.

I second what Alee had to say about Billings - it is really a growing city right now and a wonderful place to live. No sales tax in MT either and the gas prices are low!

Oh, Kay!!! I sure know what that is like. The manufacturing company I used to work for kept shutting our plant down - several times - and I was laid off twice. It's really scary. BUT - you are one amazing gal, and that is wonderful about the Farmers Market! I know that Salt Lake City has a great Farmers Market - and it's really close to Murray. Sometimes I come up to visit friends and family in Salt Lake City - I would SO love to meet you!!! I'm (very selfishly) wishing that THAT is the job you get!

XOXO, Libbie

Kay- I am so sorry to hear that you have been struggling. Me and my little family know what that is like. I hope you find a good job quickly! We are moving to Billings, MT for a better job/education market as well. You might want to check there as there are a lot of jobs available.
