Posted - May 15 2008 : 5:37:27 PM I think there are 2 kinds of MRSA, but I did find out it will attack my organs, dr. said today about that!!! I didn't realize that and thank god I didn't. I know I have been making note of anything i wore or had. I had a bump that turned really really gross and a high fever and lethargic. So if you have a bump go get checked!!! This is a pretty growing to be common thing unfortunately!!
THANK YOU ALL for the kind wishes, I just wanted to explain why I was missing. I feel like the last week has been a blur of being sick and dr. visits and treatments...well more like 2 weeks. :-p love you all for your thoughts xoxoxoo Stay healthy!

Posted - May 15 2008 : 3:32:04 PM Bridget- I'm so sorry to hear that! When my dad was in the VA hospital, I noticed a very large, white notebook with MRSA written on the side. Apparently it was the manual on how to avoid exposure and treat patients with the infection. Anyone who did have it was in isolation. Scary stuff. Glad to hear you are on the mend.

Posted - May 15 2008 : 2:32:15 PM and honestly you'll want to wash down bedding and things like that...with bleach. My granny had that before she passed away..I was pregnant and the dr's said no way no how would they grant me permission to be around her as it is contagious..and that if.."if" I went to see her that I'd have to suit up and then totally destroy the suit up and my clothes after leaving. My mom was constantly having to disinfect things in the home. But they told her to keep things cleansed and to wash things down with bleach to keep anyone else in the home from getting it. During that time I did some study about it..and Europe has a medicine stronger than what we have in the States to combat it..but it is a med only known by a number here as it has not as of yet been FDA approved in the states, and at least 3 yrs ago it was not available here.. The strongest we have here in the states is vancomycin which is sometimes administered via i.v. anyhow..very scary stuff. Stay healthy girl So very, very glad you are better. That stuff scares me to death.I wish that someone knew how to find a cure for it as it is so scary.

My friend at work, her husband has MRSA, and it won't go away. So please take care of yourself, and if you feel lousy, go back to the doctor and have it re-checked/meds adjusted.
