Posted - May 14 2008 : 09:31:50 AM The weather looked like it was going to be so nice today, so I decided to wear a skirt to work. It's so comfortable! MUCH nicer than the dress pants I usually wear. And it kinda gives a feeling of GIRL POWER! Lol!
Long flowing skirts are my favorite, and anything linen. I think it's time to pull more out of the closet!

Posted - May 15 2008 : 2:43:13 PM I have some skirts that make me feel a bit heavier, and then I have those that I think make me look straight up and down. Maybe it's just the cut of the skirt?

Posted - May 15 2008 : 2:31:07 PM I love skirts too, but I always feel like I look heavier in them than in pants. Anyone else feel that way? I would wear them all the time, but everytime I put one on, my hips look HUGE!

Posted - May 14 2008 : 7:41:00 PM I love skirts too. I am not a girly, girl.. always been more tomboy then anything, but I love the look and feel of a skirt, and prefer them over pants almost always. However, as strange as it seems I dont care for dresses..... Hummmm!

Posted - May 14 2008 : 6:02:04 PM Actually right before Nora's birthday my husband and I went shopping together. I had a pretty white skirt with black flowers that I was going to put back because...white and a one year old just don't seem to mess well...when my husband said he wanted me to get it because he likes it! That's only the second time he has commented on something he likes for my wardrobe so I figured I better get it! And luckily it is a simple pattern so as I lose weight I am pretty sure I can take it in without a problems.

Posted - May 14 2008 : 4:21:34 PM Annie, I laughed so at your comment. I love my skirts but when I need to really get moving, I just pull the back up to the front and get it done! LOL Hardly ladylike! (I can't believe I'm admiting that!)

Posted - May 14 2008 : 1:36:56 PM It all depends...I like skirts (and dresses) and have several both dressy and casual...but when dressing for work, I usually choose pants--typically wide leg dress slacks (a la Katherine Hepburn) because they're equally comfortable to me, and I can dress them up or dress them down. Oddly enough, I wear more skirts in the winter because I can wear tights and boots with the skirt. I do wear a denim skirt now and again that's super comfy, but like Amie, if I don't wear a belt with it, it turns sideways on me :)

Posted - May 14 2008 : 1:31:36 PM Lol! I too am FAR from ladylike 85% of the time, Heather (work requires I behave myself the other 15% ). I'm not a huge dress fan, but I love to wear skirts every now and then. They go nice with aprons, too.

Posted - May 14 2008 : 12:48:30 PM I go through cycles where I like or hate skirts/dresses. Right now I have some that are fun to wear. I like mine knee length or below- otherwise I am always worrying if I have to bend over to pick something up!!

Posted - May 14 2008 : 11:45:06 AM I just don't get it. When I try to wear skirts, the waistbands slide around on me and the skirts get tangled up between my legs. I like pants because they stay put and don't get in the way. Do you have to be naturally lady-like or something to wear skirts well? |

Posted - May 14 2008 : 09:46:30 AM I like the nice A-line one's that are out right now and then of course, a nice light weight longer one. I like them to hit my ankles though, as I am a little taller than most gals. Especially here in Texas when the humidity rises and the thermometer hits 100, I like a nice cool cotton skirts over shorts anyday. I think "air conditioning" the nether regions keeps me cooler.
