It has been cloudy for the last few days and has been gently raining all day. It's easy to get a little down in this weather (Where is the sun? I thought Spring was coming?! Isn't Summer almost here?)

But I look out my window and see large, heavy drops of rain clinging to the needles of my fine tree. They slowly gather weight and fall, a kiss of moisture to the ground below.

I look at the tiny leaves on my apple tree and am filled with a sense of wonder at the timing and magnificence of life. It truly is amazing, how this old world works. Evaporation, condensation. Water going up, water coming down. Trees and other growing things reaching for the sun and drinking in the groundwater.

Sometimes I find myself in the middle of the magnificence of a "little moment" and get a touch over whelmed by the wonder that is our world.

How about you? Do you like your rainy days? Do you take advantage of the opportnity to snuggle up in a blanket?

I was just thinking.. we have a family cabin in the blue mountains.. it has a tin roof.. I love the sound of the rain on the roof.. it just lulls you to sleep!

I love the rainy days (isn't that an old eddie rabbit song?).. anyway, I do.. I especially love the smell afterwards....there is something so "clean" about it.. and my garden just drinks it in!

I like a rainy day every now and then, if it's a calm day. We had a rainy Mother's Day, but the wind was terrible. If I could ever take a mid-day nap, it would be on a cloudy, rainy day. But I usually find some inside work to do on days like that (ironing, mending, organizing pictures, cleaning out drawers, etc.). We finished setting tobacco today and are suppose to get rain for the next few days. Maybe I'll sneak in a nap!!
