I love that butter churn and the chicken waterers. I've seen somewhere, can't remember where, that folks will clean them up and then put candy, like bubble gum balls, etc. It looks like you had some great finds. :)

I was reading your blog too....I really love the decorations for the prom, especially the waterfall and river. Very creative!!!

Oh my goodness! They sure did find some cool things for you! Perfect timing on those chicken waterers. You will have very hydrated chickies!

The butter churn looks like my MIL's, which is on top of the kitchen cupboards. She used it for years and knowing her, it was likely used when she got it. My husband told me last week if the earthquakes we've had the past couple of months ever get big enough to do damage, all the stuff up there would be a pile of glass. I told him that butter churn is the only thing I'd feel really bad about losing, but not going to hold my breath about it.

That butter churn looks just like the one I have. My daughtor Michele makes butter in it all the time. Mine came from my mother so think it is old.

Julie,
Meant to say also ..... I had my own antique business for many year .. several years ago ..... soooooo I love talking about early antiques .... Let me know a little more about the Churn ..... Like is there any raised letters .... anywhere?.....or numbers on the bottom? I could write lots more but.. (don't wanna bore you)....I would be happy to write more about them IF you are interested! As I said I just love this kinda stuff so please excuse my ramblings about it!!

Julie,
Why do you think your butter churn is a reproduction? I think from the picture it looks quite authentic.

Oh!!! My father grew up in Hot Springs, and my favorite Aunt of his lived in Little Rock--she had "pullets" as she called them :)

What fun--kindof like our Burlington Antique Show, I guess! Very cool!

Very cool!!! What's the first Monday in Canton?

Hey, Julie...where is Russell compared to Little Rock or Hot Springs?
