Ok, so I did 'look' at my unfinished tatting project, just wasn't brave enough to pick it up....besides, I wanted to play some more on our new tractor....plus going over to the garden nursey to pick up then plant 6 new fruit trees gave me an excuse to put off tatting for today,,,but tomorrow is another day!!! hmmm, wonder what kind of excuse I will come up with? LOL!

To all the "tatting challenge" ladies at the campout. Found this site http://www.hhtatting.com/learn.html Just the words "clockwise" and "counter clockwise" made it clear to me. Also another website said if you're using the doll making needles that our darling Katie recommended, to file down the sharp point of the needle so we didn't draw so much blood : ) I will once again attempt it and like Firemama (Amanda) might start tatting everything that doesn't move. Oh, I forgot to mention, the pattern for our dollies (Thanx to our dear Frannie) is on page 108 of Maryjanes May/June/July magazine. Just photo copy/enlarge and then get to stitchin' ...We used a wide variety of fabric scraps, trims, buttons & lace. So never throw away 'bits-n-pieces' you just might have the makin's of a rag dolly.

3 Days @ "CAMP MARYJANE"
What an awesome time we all had. Walking & singing songs to "The Sound of Music", meeting the most delightful farmgirls and surprizing Maryjane w/a Birthday Tea Party....
Unlike men on camping trips, we ladies "camped" in style! Friday night's dinner was an Italian fare. Then on Saturday we awoke to the wonderful smells of fresh brewed coffee, scrambled eggs, waffles and ham.
We celebrated Maryjanes "29th" birthday and Firemama & Rebekka Mae's "21st" birthday.
Meg made the most spectacular yummy chocolate cake trimmed w/fresh mint which we enjoyed with lavender scones, meringues, fresh peach pie & choco covered peanuts and tea served from lovely transferware tea pots.
Later that day we made rag dollies, Frannie you would have been sooooo proud of us, each doll was sooo cute!
Then we had a scavenger hunt, OMG! what a sight to see a bunch of grown women running through Maryjanes Iris', up a hill, through the mud and then we nearly attacked poor Maryjane 'cuz we thought she had a clue hidden in her leggings...long story, don't ask! LOL!,,, what women will do for a choclate bar, but then it wasn't just any old chocolate, it was Maryjanes' chocolate!
We then enjoyed some cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches befor our yummy dinner of BBQ Beef and pasta salads...We topped off the evening sitting by the fire, sharing & laughing and listening to all the wonderful sounds of the evening....
Sunday we awoke to the wonderful smell of french toast & coffee which we enjoyed eating while sitting and enjoying each others company over in the Plum Pit.
Katy, who is a most wonderfully talented lady taught us how to Tat.... I have discovered that I am "Tatting Challenged".LOL!
We then all headed into Moscow to go to the Renissance Fair which was such fun, good food, good friends, good golly I spent to much money! haha!
But as all wonderful stories do, it came to an end, it was time to pack up and head home, so we said our fond fairwells to each other and to Maryjane and her chickens and headed back to our families with the most wondeful memories in tow.
Thank you Maryjane for letting us be "girls" again for a few days.
I haven't figured out this photobucket picture posting thing yet so I will post a pic on my blog...check it out, to see us decked out in our cute aprons.

All I know is after being out there only an hour I sat down to the fanciest tea in the Plum Pit to a piece of decadent chocolate cake with fresh mint leaves, lavender scones, chocolate covered peanuts, meringue and a piece of warm peach pie! Those girls can throw a tea party...mmmm. It was so wonderful to put faces with names- just wish I had a bit more time with you all;)
Warmly, Rebekka
