oh chile .. i'm so sorry all that happened to you .. good thing you didn't sleep later .. you mighta' needed an ARK!

i would regularly totally flood my basement about every 7 years! hank swore it was god's way of making me 'clear out' stuff that was piled up and boxed (i mean it looked like a storage facility down there!) i guess based on that theory i only have TWO more years to get that schoolhouse cleared out before the floods come tumblin' down the hill!

even though it was from 'la toilette' .. isn't 'nature' the BOSS! floods, fire (oh that would have been MUCH worse!)
hurricanes, tornadoes ... mother nature will win everytime! BUT .. we 'bounce back'!

i'll come help you mop .. you come help me clear out the schoolhouse! xoxo

glad all is better now though sweet friend. xo

I'm just so so glad that the water didn't reach over to the walls and cause problems there.
so glad I had that big rug to catch most of everything.

yeah..it was a shock..LOL squish squish..and my lands it was one of those real big room rugs too..about 6 ft by 8 ft area rugs. and no joke about an inch deep.
yikes!that rug was so heavy.Poor Naomi decided to tote the thing out by herself and toss it over the fence to dry.
but thank goodness we acted very fast and mopped everything up really fast.
It could have been worse but I looked all around and no water damage really to anything except for a few pictures I had stored under my bed.
and the cheap bookcase with cardboard back..of course the cardboard backing wicks the water up. but no books and no furniture or walls damaged.
the rug wicked up a fair amount of the water. and luckily we have tile flooring.
But we are airing the room totally out this evening letting any moisture..if any left..dry that way.
We quickly lifted the antique wardrobe up onto blocks and towel dried under that and lifted bed up and towel dried everything under that..went around and made sure no water along baseboards. Most of the water was in the middle of the room.
sheew..what an evening.
Washer is now full of towels..its gonna be a recliner night for mom and dad..our bed has all the stuff I had stored under the bed and other items on top of it.
Too tired tonight to fix it all back.
