Posted - May 02 2008 : 08:06:58 AM Daughter Kristen called this morning to say that her tests came out HEALTHY! She does not have the big "C" .. jus' benign 'fibrocystic boobs' (which I've had for many years!!)
WHEW ... one HUGE weight off my heart!
NOW .. isn't this 'timely'!!! Isn't today or tomorrow the day when you kids all gather in MOSCOW? (actually, in retrospect, it would have been a 'scary' time for me to join you anyway since this insulin pump thingie just got attached to me a few days ago} .. i'm not wanting to venture too far from home until i get all the 'bugaboos' worked out of it! I've had GREAT numbers since coming home from louisville earlier this week! ANOTHER: OHHHH YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!
if anyone has a laptop with them and you can find a few minutes to write ... let us all know what fun you are having .. and post pictures! we'll want to hear from everyone when you do get home again! xo
WISH I WAS THERE!

Posted - May 02 2008 : 8:20:22 PM thanks for all the sweet thoughts gurlz .. oh my yessssssssssss .. i am sooooooooooo thankful and relieved. the jury is STILL out on jimmy. i fear he isn't going to do as well as she did. his legs go NUMB quite often (lack of circulation) .. i believe he is indeed looking at an operation .. but he is STUBBORN .. and doesn't want to go under the knife again .. but it may be necessary to keep him out of a wheel chair .. or even to keep his legs.
those kids are soooooooooo slow at dragging their feet in going back to doctors .. sooo . i still wait to hear how his blood thinners are working and what several specialists he has to go to says.
i'm doin' really GREAT on the pump since getting it 'adjusted'. have had 'mostly' normal numbers . jus' droppin' a little low and goin' a little high instead of those huge spikes i was doing!
lordy! ya'll shoulda' been here this morning when i had to 'change sites' .. i got confused .. after i had disconnected it from my stomach .. and didn't know which buttons to wham down on and WHEN! put a couple panic calls in to my 'teacher' .. she got back to me but was in a hurry ... said she would call me back .. meanwhile, i tried to remember her quick instructions and kept reading the manual .. THAT might as well be in GREEK! .. but finally, i got it done ... barely know i have it on .. and i'm having to be more 'vigilant' about my 'carb-counting' .. that will probably be more 'daunting' than learning all the 'steps' of the pump!
had a fun day .. went to town and did a little shopping for that GREAT grandson of mine .. got him a bunch of really cute 'summer clothes' .. roamed around MICHAEL's crafts store .. and picked up a few fun things .. went to the blessed DOLLAR STORE and got 5 more pairs of 'reading' glasses .. no matter how many i buy .. i still LOSE them!!!
funny thing .. i called hank and told him i was going to stop and get a bite of LUNCH .. he said .. "look at your watch" .. goooood GRIEF .. it was SEVEN p.m.!!!!!!!!! TIME SURE FLIES WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN!
SOOOO .. I HAD 'DINNER' ... then
picked up some more plants, bird seed and did some grocery shopping and came home sweet home. gonna' go sew on some dollies now!
what cha'll got planned fun for the weekend? tomorrow, farmgirl luna and her honey are going to join us and go to a reeeeeeeely FUN 'kentucky derby party'.
(we always take some nibbles to share at these parties) .... i bought a cheesecake and some strawberries and kiwi fruit that i'll slice on top of it .. put it on a pretty plate and SWEAR that i made it from scratch!)

Posted - May 02 2008 : 5:30:38 PM Thank God Frannie!! I have been waiting to hear this good news from you!! You must feel so grateful for this wonderful news. How are you adjusting to your pump? Is it a lot of work and worry to take care of? I hope not. I have heard they work very well. If anyone can get adjusted and get on with their busy happy life, my dear Frannie it is you!!!
