Posted - May 02 2008 : 04:16:03 AM went to town yesterday, and friend, Judy (who is our County's Head of Development) .. had her issue of MJ magazine!!! She let me borrow it .. she had already read it 'kiver to kiver'.
I ran all around town 'showing and telling' it!!! Didn't hit the bed last night until i had read every word!
WONDERFUL! MAGNIFICENT! BRAVO!!!
i ADORED my little article-ette about SISTER MERCY'S FOUNDLIN' HOME FOR RAG CHILLUN!!! was grinnin' ear to ear re-visiting those chilluns that i made. All but "Amazing Grace McGunigal" and "FRANNIE" stayed at Maryjane's Farm to live the farmgirl life.
Frannie will live here at Freedom Valley forever .. and my very most 'bestest' child-hood gurlfren, Grace McGunigal who married a precious 'preacher-man' and moved to North Carolina right after high school will receive 'her AMAZING GRACE dolly' and a subscription to MaryJanes Farm magazine for our 'mutual' birthday next month!
The year we turned FIFTY .. we started having a yearly reunion .. and in the last few years, our honey-hunks have joined us. We always go somewhere wonderfully fun! Gracie .. she's a forever friend .. a KEEPER!!!
My favs in this issue are all the wonderful 'makes' .. from pincushions to pillows ... aprons to dollies .. ALL OF IT!!!
I loved reading about farmgirls from all over the country and seeing sweet familiar faces and names! Having a very large collection of vintage cast iron .. the cooking over an open fire with cast iron grabbed my heart and attention too .. i think i read that article at least 3 times last night!
The 'pretties' made from vintage linens was special too .. as i have so many and am heading to town today to pick up some of that 'tacky fabric stuff' and silk ribbons!!
oh what fun!
tell us about some of the things in the issue that you jus' loved!
AND IF YOU HAVEN'T SUBSCRIBED YET ... (as Nike commercials say):
JUST DO IT!!!!

Posted - May 04 2008 : 10:26:31 AM Still no magazine for me, either. But I bought two at Borders. On another thread titled something like "did you order your magazine online" there is a nice email from the fellow who handles MJF distribution and subscriptions. If you email him, you can request or check on the status of your subscription.....I will try to find his email and also MaryJane gave it to us in a few threads.
found it! His name is Greg King.

Posted - May 04 2008 : 08:36:53 AM I was in the city book store yesterday and for the first time since last fall found Mary Janes Farm magazine. When I was leaving the store with my copy another lady ( looked like another farmgirl) was looking at another copy. I told her to buy it because by Wednesday there won't be any left. I can never find them up here. I am lovingit!

Posted - May 03 2008 : 07:26:37 AM So good to see I'm not the only one who hasn't received their free magazine in the mail yet! I'm wondering what happened. I was in Whole Foods yesterday and saw it, picked it up and walked around with it clutched to my chest. And then I put it back and I know mine HAS to come some time soon, right?
I can hardly wait!

We can't WAIT for it to arrive .. the anticipation builds .. the excitement seems overwhelming .. and when it does come .. the actual day is even sweeter!
